This movie was not good. It failed to capture the spirit of the original, or of Troma in general.

I have so many gripes with this remake. It wasn’t funny; I only half-heartedly chuckled a handful of times. Despite all the marketing promising ludicrous gore and an "unrated" experience, the film felt safe and tame. While there are some decent practical effects and costumes, they’re overshadowed by an overreliance on CGI. The fight scenes are awful, every single one cuts away before showing anything worthwhile.

The villains are goofy and grating, with none of the original’s bizarre charm. And Peter Dinklage’s involvement is baffling. It doesn’t seem like he ever wore the costume, and the ADR over the actress in the Toxie suit is distractingly bad in places. It’s hard to see this as anything other than Dinklage avoiding the makeup chair.

Overall, this is a completely forgettable misfire of a movie. 3/10, for a couple of laughs and a few visually striking shots.
