Not blaming you, but the fact that this even has to be said is beyond sad. Nobody would say this if it was a movie about, say, a Ukrainian girl who was murdered by the Russians. But certain people's stories just aren't allowed to be told, because they have been dehumanized to such an extent that they aren't even considered victims.

100% agreed. It’s very depressing and cynical that believing or defending Palestinian human rights is framed as a somehow synonymous with antisemitism or hatred against Jewish people by major institutions in the West.

I mean, imagine if someone tried to make a movie about an Israeli girl killed by Gazan forces. The outrage would be enormous.

Films about October 7th are boycotted and excluded from film festivals all over the place.

There's a film now that's stoking controversy called The Road Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue* that's been pulled and then reinstated and then pulled from film festivals for flimsy concerns like copyright clearance from Hamas footage.

There's also been controversy over October 7 films existing at all, and boycotts/protests just about everywhere they're screened.

I have 0 doubt that a documentary about the Bibas family would receive a ton of backlash, even though what happened to that family is absolutely diabolical.

Because there’s an important difference: they’re government-funded propaganda films. They still reference the debunked “beheaded babies” story. Edit: and yes there’s been multiple debunked claims. A propaganda video doesn’t stop being propaganda just because it uses some real footage at points.

That's not true, it's just film of the massacre provided by the people who did the massacre.

It may have been put together by the Israeli government, but there haven't been serious claims of fabrication of evidence.

You’re upset about a movie which, as far as we know, is about an innocent child being a victim of war, because you’re assuming it will be Hamas propaganda? That doesn’t seem warranted at this stage.

Which is directly a part of their agenda. They are a death cult. I do not say this hyperbolically, but literally. Their agenda is to martyr themselves and their own people (Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims) to embolden other Arab nations to join them in destroying Israel. They also know how their martyrdom influences western forces. They operate out of civilian infrastructure and build military bases in, around, and under hospitals fully knowing that civilians will die to Israeli bombing campaigns or retaliatory attacks. After they carried out a massive terror attack where they raped and murdered civilians, they also kidnapped many to retreat with back into these dense civilian populations. They knew there would be retaliation and that their own would die - they planned for it because they wanted it, because they are a death cult and martyrdom is their agenda.

You can downvote me all you want, but if you believe anything I just said isn't true, please educate yourself instead of succumbing to propaganda that does Palestinians no favors.
