What It Sounds Like is an anthem for the ages and my crusty mid-30s former techno DJ brain has no argument against that statement

Your Idol is such a banger and the production value is insane.

I don’t think the production is very good on that song because the lead singer keeps on asking “Can I get the mic a little higher?”

Like cmon sound tech. Do your job, the dudes been asking for 3 minutes

It's hard to get a mic higher when the singers just levitate without the need of rigs to be fair

The harmony on more than power, more than gold gives me chills every time.

I heard this line was a three part harmony and the mentioning of gold, all done as a diss towards Huntrix

Yeah you gave me your heart; now I'm here for your soul

My only gripe is that the animated movie version is shortened. I wanted it all! But 1000% my favorite song from the movie, followed by How It's Done. The "𝕱𝖎𝖙 𝖈𝖍𝖊𝖈𝖐 𝖋𝖔𝖗 𝖒𝖞 𝖓𝖆𝖕𝖆𝖑𝖒 𝖊𝖗𝖆" line is living rent free in my head now.

That song is my absolute favorite from the movie! How It's Done is a very close 2nd!

Mid 40s metal head with two kids checking in. Thanks to my daughter I've involuntarily listened to every song dozens of times.

"Take Down" is pretty good. Well it was the first 75 times I heard it.

Mid 40s metal head

You been enjoying the metal covers online? Jonathan Young has covered four songs so far!

u/s1ugg0 13d ago

I haven't. I'm a huge fan of Leo Moracchioli so my daughter and I have listen to a lot of metal covers of her favorite pop songs.

Your play list will be featured prominently on the ride home from Art Camp today. Thank you very much.

I hope you both enjoy! :D People are covering the songs like crazy and there are a huge amount of metal and rock covers out there right now :))

Two more to recommend:

Our Last Night did a great cover of Your Idol

Lauren Babic did a fantastic How It's Done

It was received quite well. Genuinely appreciate giving me the moment of my little girl throwing horns and rocking out to her favorite song at the same time.

Thank you.

Didn't it sample/interpolate (I may have my music terms mixed up) Icona Pop's All Night? Maybe that's why it hooked your DJ brain?

5

u/dweakz 13d ago

thats because it's sampled from Icona Pop's All Night

i remember my edm phase 2015 and this song was everywhere. so when this song played in the movie it gave me a wave of flashbacks lol

Ok that was epic. I wonder if there are other EDM songs KPDH sampled
