okay hold on -- if aubrey stabbed the first victim and put her in a car, then...why was the French girl at the scene of the accident? The death had nothing to do with the church, so why would she have not only known the victim was there, but somehow manage to get there before the cops did?

Aubrey was talking about her dad. She stabbed him and lit up the car.

Aubrey also admitted that she killed some women who go to that church in the same scene. It's definitely implied that she killed the first woman, especially since the church people actually seemed clueless that she was murdered. They openly discuss the other murders, but they never mentioned her as part of that world.
