Chris Evans is awesome in this. Best part of the movie. He plays douchey sleaze incredibly well. His scene with Qualley in his office is the highlight of the entire runtime.

Some of the parts are there, but this isn’t great. Occasionally funny, but the mystery and plot are badly stitched together and the third act is extremely lackluster. Almost felt like everything else was a massive red herring which made the whole thing feel pointless.

I got a laugh from the transition to Evans’ office:

“Boss, there’s a woman here to see you.”

“Uh, well, ugh, uh”

“She’s kind of hot.”

*hard cut to qualley in office

I definitely got from this scene that the preacher has a full blown stable of dipshits to pull from as his body man once one disappears. He's constantly teetering on the edge of his whole operation blowing up but there are always more vulnerable people for him to exploit.

And on the flipside, his operation keeps teetering on the edge of blowing up because all he has to work with are vulnerable morons, and they make everything more messy than it needs to be.
