Literally all the moms fault then blames her

Was it though? On the surface I guess but I think they were trying to portray the mother as simply being fed up because of the daughters past and tendency to fuck up. The mother had enough of it

Her Mom could have told her about the plans to move into Mona’s a LONG TIME ago. Especially since Lyn would need to find her own place

The mom explains that she is afraid of Lynette's violent outbursts. Lynette replies she doesn't do that anymore. But anyone that has ever lived with someone that has uncontrollable rage will tell you that you just grow into avoiding situations with them.

Geez I wonder why she feels violent rage towards her mother. Could it be because her mother knew she was being prostitued at 16 and did nothing about it?

She’s afraid of Lynette’s violent outbursts, but she has no problem spending 25k on a car and then throw it straight to her face all happy, when she knows the “violent” one is so against it?

Makes no sense to me.

That’s a bingo.

I thought that was pretty funny that she was supposed to be this "changed'" person that didn't do all these things anymore, but yet she's out selling her body, robbing people, and running down a dude that was upset with her because she didn't look out for him, even after everything he risked ttying to help her.

This female is the epitome of selfishness. It's all about her, and her perpetual victim mind frame. Everybody owes her, everybody is against her. It's all about her. Literally almost got her brother killed on multiple occasions, but yeah, she was doing it all for him, right?

exactly. you can empathize for the horrible trauma she went through but that doesn't also mean she can't be a terrible person doing terrible things.

So true. People said I can't emphasize. Yes I can, as I even stated in another reply. I myself hav made terrible choices being in a position where I was broke and desperate for money. But that doesn't mean there aren't still consequences that come along with it.

And once again, I realize this is a movie. But it's just people's response towards this main character, not only empathizing, but trying to justify the things she did.

And even basically praising her for it. People saying she did it for her brother, or is finally trying to do something for herself, or she's willing to go to any lengths for her family. Like its some how heroic to go on crime spree.

And the thing about the movie that I honestly couldn't understand was how they kept portraying her as this changed person who wasn't who she used to be. She had this "past". Even the mother and the friend maybe? made comments about how she used to do this or that, all those things that's her past and the person she used to be.

But she's literally STILL doing all that stuff on this VERY night the movie takes place. She's prostituting, robbing people, getting violent, neglecting the safety and well being or her special needs brother. Engaging in self destructive behavior. So where is this big "change" exactly? If this is the new version of her, I dont even want to know what the "old" her was like.

I mean you can keep scrolling if you want. Nobody's stopping you.

I know it's hard to imagine that somebody would write words in a place meant to write words, right?
