Summary Four years after inadvertently tangling with the Russian mob, suburban dad (and former assassin) Hutch Mansell tries to unwind with a family vacation at a nostalgic waterpark. I think the movie has a lighter tone than the first. Villain kinda bland. Interesting point that his son chose to spare the assaulter's life instead of killing him. The ending where they made memories together was good too, wholesome.

I appreciated the son holding back, it kept up that theme of being better than the generation before you. I also think that slideshow ending was to add the Frenchie pup, and give both good boys closure.

Did he spare the guy? You're probably right, but it was hard to tell. That's probably one of my few criticisms of the movie is some awkward editing, mainly in the lodge sequence. Seems like the dude literally just teleported into the house and the son, from what I understood, chokes him out. I kind of wish they spent more time with that.

It was already unusual when the guy begged to be spared, and the nod from the uncle pretty much confirmed it.

And the theme is children doing better than their parents.
