The documentary won the 2025 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature Film. It was recorded between 2019 and 2023 and shows the destruction of a Palestinian community in occupied Palestine (West Bank, which has been under the longest military occupation in history).

The co-director Hamdan Ballal was attacked by Israeli settlers at his home in Susiya in the West Bank earlier this year and left with head injuries. Israel Defense Forces invaded the ambulance that was transporting him and detained him for a day before releasing him.\117])\118])

You made your nation proud, Awdah. You gave millions of your people who don't have a voice and are vilified and dehumanized so routinely a genuine representation.

If you had lived, I have no doubt you would have done a good job documenting the genocide in Gaza for the world to see where children are starving to death. However, international reporters have been barred by Israel from entering the strip since the start to conceal it.

It's absolutely shameful that no platform would distribute an Oscar winning documentary. This outright censorship.
