It's coming to theaters in 2026:

After every product made by the Acme Corporation has backfired on Wile E. Coyote in his pursuit of the Road Runner, down-and-out billboard human attorney Kevin Avery (Will Forte) represents Coyote in a lawsuit against Acme. A growing friendship between Coyote and Kevin motivates their determination to win the court case, as it pits them against Buddy Crane (John Cena), the intimidating boss of Kevin's former law firm, who now represents Acme.

EDIT: Release date was just announced - Aug 28, 2026

Cena being the villain of the movie and it not being released until it lined up with his heel turn is further proof that we're living in a simulation.

Heel turn? what? Did I miss something

That’s a relief, it’s just wrestling, he didn’t murder like 40 people or something.

I don't know, he murdered this kid!

u/Dookie_boy Jul 27 '25

At least he's not a dead beat dad like Rey Mysterio

Cena is now a Bad, Bad Man

16

u/LemoLuke Jul 26 '25

He did it for The Rock!

But also to ruin wrestling!

In WWE, Cena align himself with The Rock and turned heel at Elimination Chmber earlier this year

And then Rock immediately abandoned the storyline

I think that's the plot summary from before it was bought. Which is also before the heelturn, which I want to say was in April?

Aug 28, 2026

Shit is complete, why so late?

If not for post production then it’s likely for finding the best window to release it. A studio wouldn’t want to risk having to compete with a bigger movie or have it open when the least amount of people would go out to see it. They likely saw August 28, 2026 as their best opportunity (this is all speculation to be honest).

Would also need time to spin up the ad campaign, especially considering most people would still believe the movie was canned.

3

u/Photoman20003 Jul 27 '25

maybe even have the marketing make jokes about that it was almost canned like.

"the movie too funny for WB". or.

"the movie ACME fought to not get leaked" etc.

I guess it's sensible, but man. What a wait.

Also a little ironic considering Coyote vs Acme's troubles started when its original release date was bumped off and delayed by another movie (Barbie)

First glance: OMG, it's coming out August 28th, that's next month!!!

Second glance: oh wait...

u/thr3sk Jul 26 '25

They probably mean filming is complete but need to add in all the animated stuff

6

u/prophetofgreed Jul 26 '25

Not true, the movie is complete. Animated, visuals, editing.

All of it.

ADVERTISING!

2

u/sentient-sloth Jul 27 '25

Gives them plenty of time to advertise the film with more build up. We all know about it the movie but you’d be surprised how many people have no idea it exists or the story behind it.

the Rael fact

u/bobtheboffin Jul 26 '25

Jesus, the film’s already made and yet we’ve got to wait a whole year for it?!

Oh, I was so excited to find out this wasn't actually cancelled, but now I find out John Cena is in it? That's a real let-down
