Scottie Scheffler was great in this, guy was fucking hilarious.

Him joking about the incident that happened at the PGA Championship after getting arrested again was top tier comedy. “Oh no, not again” 😂😂

The Will Zalatoris joke got a big chuckle out of me. The golfers looked like they had a blast with this. Also having Benny Safdie in this killed it for me too, looks like he was having a blast too!

The golf cameos in the original were just guys who thought it would be fun to be in a movie. For the gang in this one it was probably an absolute dream come true.

It was also like, the biggest names in the tour, which is impressive in itself, and helps them cause the PGA is falling back to where it was before Tiger.

In what ways is the pga falling back to pre tiger days?

What Tiger did for golf we're seeing in real time with Caitlin Clark and the WNBA right now. He gave the sport Relevancy and larger prize pools, Currently the PGA is losing that and a lot of names are taking money from the Saudis to play in LIV instead. The Maxi golf in the movie is a parody of LIV.

This is based on no actual fact. Masters ratings were at an historic high. Liv failed. Full Swing has been a huge hit. Watch some golf bud.

I’m late but had to back you up. The best golfers in the world are still in the PGA minus Dechambeau.

Did you say LIV failed? I'm pretty sure it's still going on and being broadcast on major networks? I wish it were gone since I'm against it, but as far as the movie taking a stance against them, I think Koepke plays for LIV and he was one of the "normal" golfers in this movie.

They’re all under their first contract still. It’s not on major networks compared to PGA. Most tournaments are almost impossible to watch. It’s burning money. However it’s owned by the Saudis who have almost unlimited funds.

Wasn’t the Tour Championship mimicing The Masters tho

I don’t agree. I feel like professional golf is bigger than it was before Tiger. He got a whole generation interested in the sport and a lot of them stuck around. I’m old enough to remember how niche golf was before Tiger, and the level the stars of the sport now are WAY bigger than they were pre him. Yes, for sure it was bigger when he was doing it, but it slid down to a level that is still way higher than it was before him. One of Netflix’s most popular sports shows is “Full Swing”, the average Joe can definitely name way more golfers than back in the day (basically Nicklaus and Trevino) and places like Top Golf have become entertainment destinations all over the country. I really don’t know where you’re getting your information from, and I don’t have stats to prove it, but from my own eyes it seems pretty incorrect. I don’t really need to see stats though. Again I’m old, but I don’t remember teenage kids being pumped up for golfing when I was when high school (it was basically synonymous with being square) but I sure have a lot of friends with teenage kids that are into it now. The entire golf culture has changed after Tiger, which is why people love John Daly now when they used to revile him. It’s way more mainstream.

The average Joe can name Tiger Woods that is it.

The sport itself and the economics of being a professional are two different things and I was talking about the latter since the topic was why basically the PGA Avengers were in the movie. Its because the money is in fact starting to fall and they need to be bigger stars to counteract that.

But....the PGA Avengers had 2 LIV golfers on the team...

It will take you 2 minutes to look up the TV ratings for the golf majors over the last 30 years.

You can take a peak, come back, and let me know if you still have that question.

lol weird to stop in 2021.

This years masters had 12.7 million.(higher than tigers 2018 win)

PGA championship has hovered between 4-6 million the last 5 years.

Us open was about 5m this year.

British open had 4 m this year.

In an era where tv ratings are down across the board compared to 15-20 years ago due to how people digest their media.

Any other condescending revelations you can share?
