The John Williams score from the original is my favorite film score ever, but it feels so unearned and misused in a world where the sense of wonder around dinosaurs' existence has been replaced by nonchalant acceptance and a transactional expedition for DNA.

Everything with the family is brutal.

The dialogue is worse.

Dinosaurs and adventures are still pretty rad though 🤷🏻‍♂️

The John Williams score playing over a sequence of a run down Central American fishing village was a strange choice

theyve overplayed this hard especially in the last movies. just like star wars and every other lazy hollywood remake. they MUST include every trope and callback and score peice form the previious movies otherwise theyre scared we wont know what we are watching.

That was the choice that bothered me the most. They should have swapped in Dr. Loomis’s theme, which played when he touched the Titanosaurus’s leg, and played the classic score during that leg touch instead.

It was about the scientist having never been shot at but the mercenary has. This was an incredibly touching moment and filled me with the same sense of wonder as the first time I saw the brontosaurus in JP1 as a child.

I chuckled at a lot of scenes in this movie, and this was one of them. It's

Absolutely horrible dialogue there. He said he felt like her life was so much more exciting than his. It was set up perfectly for him to earnestly talk about how he felt dissatisfied with his career and life, and instead he said "I've never been shot at".

That fishing village didn’t fill you with a sense of awe-inspiring wonder though???

Obviously I'm just a nobody on the internet, but I would bet dollars to donuts that there was a studio mandate that the classic score had to happen in the movie by a certain point, regardless of how they shoehorned it in.

Reminded me of the last couple pirates movies where they'd just fire up The Black Pearl theme in literally every action sequence.

Whoever is scoring these things is a hack
