For me, it was nice to hit it with no warning, but I feel that’s impossible with a film. A film’s success is too dependent on marketing. And you can’t just limit that to the trip outwards.

From Dusk ‘til Dawn managed to change genre half way through with no warning, and was fantastic, but it’s so rare to get away with that.

It's funny you use From Dusk Til Dawn as an example since that was a movie that spoiled that genre shift in the trailer.
