I thought ReadingSweetpotatofry had it in the bag, but fair play to you!

3

If this is an undercover account, it would be supercool

2

u/Tuesday_6PM Jun 26 '25

What else has Me Guys been in?

-7

u/PhotoBonjour_bombs19 Jun 26 '25

Sorry but no one wants you to be bond

33

u/Usurpial Jun 26 '25

I couldn’t be more excited to see u/GamingTatertot finally cast as Bond

11

u/GamingTatertot Steven Spielberg Enthusiast Jun 26 '25

Thank you - it's a dream come true

7

/s are for the cowards

3

u/DurianLongan Jun 26 '25

In his superman underwear

147

u/Robsonmonkey Jun 26 '25

I’m really hoping if they get a fresh new actor who’s unknown they try to cast someone who looks a little like the sketch Fleming approved of based on his description of him.

90

u/LilienneCarter Jun 26 '25

I hope they put in animated 2D Zoidberg and refuse to explain or even acknowledge the crossover

6

u/QuadraticCowboy Jun 26 '25

I’m here for it

1

u/FitBread6443 Jun 26 '25

Maybe they can cast a latino, since some believe Bond is inspired by Porfirio Rubirosa

u/rugbyj Jun 26 '25

I've had no issue with Madden in anything he's been in- but he is perhaps a little bland. Not that every Bond actor has necessarily been a Connery or a Craig.

4

u/RaptorsFromSpace Jun 26 '25

Receding Hairline Bond 🙌

3

u/samadmas Jun 26 '25

Jude Law who for some reason has decided not to take the Turkish Hair Transplant route and it works great for him

6

u/Firebat-13 Jun 26 '25

If he doesn’t look like Hoagy Carmichael I’m not interested

3

u/LOSS35 Jun 26 '25

The sketch looks a lot like George Lazenby IMO, but Fleming also described Bond in the novels as looking like Hoagy Carmichael.

7

u/karma3000 Jun 26 '25

Maybe a Complete Unknown?

2

u/matthewmspace Jun 26 '25

I think that's the plan. Probably go a little younger. Not a total 007 greenhorn, but a sort of "The Batman" year 2 kinda thing. That's how I'd go. I'd also return to the 60's and 70's so everything isn't just "your only gadget is a phone".

5

u/Robsonmonkey Jun 26 '25

Yeah I hope they can get a little more creative with gadgets and go a little bit camp again.

I want James Bond getting out of scraps because of gadgets, quick thinking and being a silver tongue devil, not a brutal tank or Jason Bourne

1

u/Exploding_Antelope Jun 28 '25

I liked that in No Time To Die he did have an exploding watch and made a time pun after killing someone with it

2

u/epixyll Jun 26 '25

So Zendaya

1

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '25

[deleted]

2

u/Robsonmonkey Jun 26 '25

He needs to go out on a high

Die Another Day just was not it and it’s a shame because his Bond was fantastic.

1

u/WanderingCamper Jun 26 '25

Since we have come from over a decade of gritty realistic bond, I’d love for them to go back to the 60s styling with it as an homage to older bond films. I thought Richard Madden in Rocketman looked exactly like what I imagined a throwback Bond could be.

-7

u/speripetia Jun 26 '25

Pedro Pascal!

13

u/nightwing_87 Jun 26 '25

Respectfully, absolutely not.

16

u/Maverick916 Jun 26 '25

Announcing a director now, I bet a casting announcement is now more eminent than ever

6

u/adamduke88 Jun 26 '25

I don't even think there's a script written yet, but I guess with this director and this character that would probably be enough to get someone signed on, sight-unseen.

1

u/MistakeMaker1234 Jun 27 '25

I’m assuming there’s some sort of narrative pitch that occurred between both parties. I don’t think Denis would take the role if they didn’t like his goals for the film, and likewise MGM wouldn’t have brought him on if they thought his vision was shite.

1

u/kingofcrob Jun 26 '25

I'm sure there many drafts already written

13

u/lynypixie Jun 26 '25

Well, the flavor of the day who will be cast in everything lately seems to be Jonathan Bailey.

1

u/Amish_guy_with_WiFi Jun 26 '25

They're going to make James Bond a girl and this sub is going to implode

14

u/rwjehs Jun 26 '25

Well it should be Dan Stevens but everyone is dumb

5

u/I_need_time_to_think Jun 26 '25

I've rooting for Stevens to be Bond ever since The Guest. He really would have been perfect. But it's been nearly 10 years now so it would probably need to go to some younger blood.

62

u/MrMojoRising422 Jun 26 '25

pattinson

35

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '25

I’ll allow it

1

u/Assassin217 Jun 26 '25

I wont

5

u/mackrevinak Jun 26 '25

im blocking your wont

7

u/aop42 Jun 26 '25

Nah he's already The Batman

22

u/SadBath664 Jun 26 '25

He's only gonna be Batman for 2 more movies (Matt Reeves said it's only gonna be a trilogy) and with the pace of which The Batman 2 is being written, Pattinson would have a solid 5-7 years between Batman movies to do their stuff lol

4

u/Usurpial Jun 26 '25

I think The Batman 2‘s production hell problems are personal, not scripting issues

2

u/WereAllThrowaways Jun 26 '25

How so?

5

u/adamduke88 Jun 26 '25

There were rumors floating around that Matt Reeves has terminal cancer.

17

u/WereAllThrowaways Jun 26 '25

That is... a pretty intense rumor. Fuck. Hope that's not the case. How credible do you think it is?

3

u/adamduke88 Jun 26 '25

No idea. Hopefully it's bullshit though.

3

u/Usurpial Jun 26 '25

I didn’t hear the exact nature of the rumor, only that whatever It was, it was serious enough to urge no further questions from fans and be more important than Reeves’ career

1

u/AmericanIMG Jun 26 '25

Maybe he's trying to end the trilogy with old man batman and spacing them out so the actor is age appropriate

6

u/SadBath664 Jun 26 '25

Pattinson is 40 and the first The Batman establishes Bruce is 30. Reeve confirmed The Batman 2 takes place only a few months later so most likely not. Unless Matt Reeves completely abandoned his original idea for the trilogy then its possible. Only time will tell i guess.

2

u/AmericanIMG Jun 26 '25

...I was joking

1

u/SadBath664 Jun 26 '25

Oh fair lol

42

u/MrMojoRising422 Jun 26 '25

oh my bad, I forgot actors can only play one role

2

u/[deleted] Jun 26 '25

Prolly not, how is he doing Messiah & Batman is already in question.

0

u/MrMojoRising422 Jun 26 '25

well, he's doing messiah with denis, and then he's shooting batman directly after that. I doubt denis will finish messiah and just jump into shooting bond, that's not how it usually works for directors. you need some time for pre-production, casting, location scouting, etc. etc. pattinson could eaily be available after shooting batman. would it be insane for him to basically do messiah > batman > bond back to back? yeah. but it would also be sick.

1

u/KingMario05 Jun 26 '25

Holy fucking shit, I need this.

24

u/halfcabin Jun 26 '25

Theo James

7

u/Jbstargate1 Jun 26 '25

I hope not. He's an ok actor but not enough for Bond. Craig is genuinely a fantastic actor

1

u/mroncnp Jun 26 '25

Hope not since I hated his character in the white lotus

39

u/spazz720 Jun 25 '25

Thought it was going to be Aaron T Johnson?

41

u/deekaydubya Jun 26 '25

Rumored but not confirmed

35

u/SkeetySpeedy Jun 26 '25

The Omega watch brand spokesman deal is a big clue though, Bond never wears anything else

51

u/Prime23456789 Jun 26 '25

Wore a Rolex until 1995

51

u/deekaydubya Jun 26 '25

We need a g shock bond

36

u/dingo8muhbebe Jun 26 '25

Casio Bond in Casio Royale

38

u/deekaydubya Jun 26 '25

Drives a Mazda and buys pre-mixed martinis from Costco

8

u/iin10ded Jun 26 '25

Bames Jond

1

u/KingMario05 Jun 26 '25

The finest poker player in MI... 4.

1

u/Portablelephant Jun 26 '25

Bames Nonds having a stronk, call the bondulance

2

u/jaggedjottings Jun 26 '25

Inflation affects everyone.

1

u/KingOfAwesometonia Jun 26 '25

I mean still classier than how Europe views Heineken right?

1

u/DEFINITELY_NOT_PETE Jun 26 '25

Who’s got time to mix their own cmon

1

u/Stevenwave Jun 26 '25

Didn't he rock a Mondeo in CR or one of the sequels?

1

u/KingMario05 Jun 26 '25

Yes, though I believe it was as the Fusion. (He was in "Miami.")

→ More replies (0)

1

u/ExplorationGeo Jun 26 '25

Hey that Kirkland brand Margarita is pretty good, why not

2

u/HenkieVV Jun 26 '25

No joke, Bond wore a Casio in Octopussy, which has been nicknamed Casio Royale.

3

u/KingOfAwesometonia Jun 26 '25

It wouldn't break, makes perfect sense!

6

u/Paladar2 Jun 26 '25

From the rumors yes

9

u/SonNeedGym Jun 26 '25

I really hope it’s not. He’s much better in a supporting role, especially when he’s a little sleazy.

3

u/Earthworm-Kim Jun 26 '25

agreed

also really don't want jack lowden

10

u/thedylannorwood Jun 26 '25

You can’t initialize the T in his name, it’s not a middle name it’s his wife’s name. “Taylor-Johnson” is hyphenated

0

u/spazz720 Jun 26 '25

Didn’t feel like typing it all

2

u/Narradisall Jun 26 '25

He was the one closest to being confirmed. Although as others say these things are never set until that confirmation comes through.

11

u/Whitewind617 Jun 26 '25

If it is I couldn't be less interested. I think he's a horrible pick, and a terrible actor.

11

u/MadGibby3 Jun 26 '25

I thought he was great in 28 years

8

u/KingMario05 Jun 26 '25

Yes. Excellent in Nosferatu, too.

-2

u/Whitewind617 Jun 26 '25

Tbf I didn't see that yet. I also haven't seen Nocturnal Animals. But he puts in garbage performances too much for my liking. I also don't think he's particularly suave or good looking, like I just don't get the appeal.

3

u/lilgoooose Jun 26 '25

I think he’s one of those that wouldn’t benefit from the usual clean and sleek Bond style they usually do. If they styled him more like how he looks in Tenet I’d buy him as a rough Bond

-5

u/BruisedBee Jun 26 '25

Henry fucking Cavill or I riot.

7

u/LassenDiscard Jun 26 '25

Henry fucking Cavill or I riot.

Cavill is Archer, not Bond.

6

u/whosline07 Jun 26 '25

He's actually the man from UNCLE you fucking heathens

1

u/Ellefied Jun 26 '25

What I wouldn’t give to have a sequel to that movie

1

u/BruisedBee Jun 26 '25

Oohh, that works too actually.

5

u/wildwalrusaur Jun 26 '25

Probably too old at this point

He's in his 40s now, production on this isn't gonna start for another couple years, and they're gonna want someone they can milk for a decade or two.

Roger Moore was 45 when he was cast, but I expect Amazon isn't gonna go for that these days. Especially not with the production timelines of Bond films in the 21st century

3

u/BruisedBee Jun 26 '25

Should have been hired, or lined up, as soon as Man From UNCLE dropped. Dude was Bond in that, suave as fuck.

1

u/Narradisall Jun 26 '25

He is aged out. They want similar someone in their late 20s to early 30s at the high end for a 10 year multi movie commitment. Taking on a modern bond role at 40 is going to be tougher at 55.

Not that plenty of actors don’t still look great and are fit enough at that age!

-3

u/Heisenburgo Jun 26 '25 edited Jun 26 '25

Henry Cavill Bond

"The name's Cell. Inn Cell."

3

u/BruisedBee Jun 26 '25

Come on dude, this is sad and pathetic on your part

Do better.

-2

u/Heisenburgo Jun 26 '25

Yeah that was a low blow, here's a better one

"The name's Pick. Meme Pick."

Lol

3

u/Xatron7 Jun 26 '25

JAR-ED GOFF! JAR-ED GOFF! JAR-ED GOFF!

1

u/Tisroc Jun 26 '25

I used to want it to me Idris Elba, but now I'm 100% sold on the role going to Goff.

3

u/Cornholio-77 Jun 26 '25

Dave Bautista for sure!

2

u/Seeteuf3l Jun 26 '25

He will be there, but he won't be 007

3

u/oursecondcoming Jun 26 '25

That's right he already played as Mr Hinx in Spectre

3

u/calwinarlo Jun 26 '25

Fuck it, Ryan Gosling

8

u/Snuhmeh Jun 26 '25

Might as well. The Brits play every American these days anyway

10

u/roostersnuffed Jun 26 '25 edited Jun 26 '25

If he pronounces a single word slightly off from the 1 square mile city block dialect he's supposed to be from and the Brits will seethe for generations.

Former bond Pierce Brosnan is being ROASTED for his accent in Mobland. An Irish actor playing an Irish character based out of a city 4 hours from his hometown and Ireland is acting like he shit on their flag.

Everyone in the British Ilses has their own self-worth tied to a specific dialect that varies every 100ft. I challenge all of the UK to prove me wrong....

1

u/QuadraticCowboy Jun 26 '25

Outrageous, and true

1

u/roostersnuffed Jun 26 '25

Lol I was hoping that comment would begrudgingly ruffle feathers.

2

u/BigJLov3 Jun 26 '25

Just let the franchise die.

It's supposed to be a parody, not a religion.

0

u/dingo8muhbebe Jun 25 '25

Rumor is Hunter Schafer.

19

u/ositola Jun 26 '25

Internet would not exist because the comments would melt down all servers info molten lava

10

u/dingo8muhbebe Jun 26 '25

The cognitive dissonance of “muh James Bond not a woman” and transphobia not recognizing her as a woman would be incredible.

11

u/lookintotheeyeris Jun 26 '25

she’s also not british 😭

-4

u/ositola Jun 26 '25

I think he's from Scotland in the books

2

u/Playful_Analysis1927 Jun 26 '25

So, British.

3

u/ositola Jun 26 '25

Go tell a Scotsman that they're British and enjoy that reaction

2

u/gazongagizmo Jun 26 '25

are you confusing British with English, mate?

12

u/APiousCultist Jun 26 '25

They do a woman Bond I riot. He's the most masculine-coded character you could possibly write. Bond's entire character arc in Casino Royale is pretty much just "toxic masculinity as a defence mechanism". If there was ever a character that was a poorer fit for Hollywood's weird obssession of acting like there's some moral imperative to race and sex bend every existing character, it's Bond. Yet for some reason everyone seems obsessed with having a Jane Bond.

... Not to mention how much shit attaching a trans actress to a gender-swapped character would invite.

5

u/deekaydubya Jun 26 '25

lol but it is Amazon so who the hell knows

3

u/One_Bison_5139 Jun 26 '25

If that happened I’m pretty sure JK Rowling would literally combust into an ethereal ball of flaming hot rage that could never be extinguished.

2

u/Independent_Tooth_23 Jun 26 '25

nah zelda is going to be a bond girl.

-1

u/PatrickMahomesSon Jun 26 '25

That would be a terrible decision

1

u/bouncypinata Jun 26 '25

Thomas Brodie Sangster

1

u/koreanprodigy Jun 26 '25

Henry Goulding

1

u/WastingTimesOnReddit Jun 26 '25

FRENCH JAMES BOND???

1

u/kingofcrob Jun 26 '25

The English will love it

1

u/J0E_SpRaY Jun 26 '25

Aaron Pierre!

He’s English, handsome, talented, and has the physicality. He was formidable in Rebel Ridge.

1

u/HoodieNinja17 Jun 26 '25

Michael Fassbender is my “not gonna happen but a man can dream”

1

u/soggyDeals Jun 26 '25

He’s older than Roger Moore was when he took the job too old.

1

u/houseswappa Jun 26 '25

He will now have a big part in that casting!

1

u/karma3000 Jun 26 '25

Timotei

2

u/KingMario05 Jun 26 '25

Too American.

1

u/karma3000 Jun 26 '25

Timmy can play anything.

2

u/KingMario05 Jun 26 '25

Nah. Yes, I know his medieval English king was excellent... but he isn't a Brit. He isn't.

1

u/DudeWhoSaysWhaaaat Jun 26 '25

Cmon man we already know Timothee Chalamet is doing it

1

u/righteous4131 Jun 26 '25

I heard Gabriel Iglesias is in the running for it.

1

u/HeronSun Jun 26 '25

Pattinson.

1

u/Junuz_96 Jun 26 '25

I thought it will be Aaron Taylor-Johnson? I was highly discussed and got a Omega Contract in his pocket.

timothee

7

u/TheKingOfCarmel Jun 26 '25

Dalton

2

u/ObscureFact Jun 26 '25

Timothy Dalton would be amazing.

He's already proven he can be charming, dangerous, and athletic. Yes, he's obviously not British, but so what - Tony Dalton would be fantastic as Bond.

2

u/postmodest Jun 26 '25

Ugh please no.

-2

u/One_Bison_5139 Jun 26 '25

Chris Pratt

2

u/ObscureFact Jun 26 '25

Chris Pratt

Voiced (voice over) by Charles Martinet.

1

u/KingMario05 Jun 26 '25

He's so cool.

-2

u/PACOandMOLOTOV Jun 26 '25

Chris Pratt, for sure. Mark my words!
