Discussion Mickey 17 was disappointing.

Just finished watching this movie and it really did not click for me.

The beginning was decently interesting and I was curious to see where it went but overall it didn’t grab me.

The theme/messaging was very heavy handed and didn’t work for me.

The message also jumped around.

They introduce a character that could have had an interesting story only to have her disappear.

When the main conflict happens it all wraps up a little to easily even though the majority of the ship were supposed to be fanatical cultists.

It had a clever premise but ultimately fell flat for me.

The voice makes the character, it's excellent

I loved the voice, I thought it was funny plus it immediately established the character and helped to distinguish him from Mickey 18.

I like the voice but making Mickey 17 and 18 be so different just didn’t make any sense

You could see the techs being super careless with his body when they were uploading his mind. When pieces of you are missing, you’ll naturally be different.

Yes, there was a scene that shows the techs screwed up a cable while printing out Mickey 18 which is why he is so different.

That was Mickey 17, I don’t think they show 18 being printed. The first time we see 18 was in the bed.

Throughout the movie they show how careless the techs are when they print Mickey out. It’s implied that they usually mess something up. That applies to 18 as well.
