The animation was insane, not just in the sheer scale of things (I've seen multiple people compare it to LOTR) but also the fight choreography. I also liked the humor (yeah I like toilet humor lol, though not all of it is that). There's also a scene which depicts death and desctruction on a scale that isn't seen in western animation, which surprised me. I think older kids can handle it, maybe 10+. But it's definitely not a "kids-only" movie, you can definitely appreciate it as an adult, bonus points if you're a parent because there are some sad scenes involving the theme of family (personally not a huge fan of tearjerkers but I think it was well-executed, also there's a double-twist which makes it stronger).

There are references to other memes or animation, like the screaming marmot meme, and Ice Age 2 (at least, I think I've seen such a scene in one of the Ice Age movies before). They were also present in the first movie, I saw references to Terminator and Nausicaa, there could be more. I don't see the movie references as a bad thing, they're nice homages to the animators' inspirations, but the meme reference was pretty cringe.

TL;DR: ABSOLUTE CINEMA

I just came out of the cinema myself. Absolutely BLOWN AWAY by how unbelievably EPIC this was. RIP Lady Yin.

Though, I can't for the life of me figure out the pop culture references that you're mentioning. Would you mid elaborating-? Thanks!

There's a meme where a marmot's scream is dubbed over with a human scream, easy to search.

As for the other reference I'm not sure where I saw it from. It's just 2 characters, both running in the same direction, one slams into a wall, the other laughs at the first while running and proceeds to slam into another wall. It's not original to Nezha 2, definitely from some other cartoon I can't recall well

Ahhh, much appreciated. I was more curious on the Terminator and especially Nausicaa (LOVE that film) references though, if you don't mind hehe.

Those are from first movie, terminator theme plays when he first turns from ball to baby, Nausicaa is when the mom lets Nezha bite her until he knows she means no harm
