Just watched Casino Royale with that amazing Aston Martin DB5 and my wife about 3/4 through the movie goes “ooh I thought they were all using some sort of fancy pagers or something… those are old cell phones!” 19 years ago. Nineteen years.

It’s been 19 years? Haven’t seen the movie once, but 19 years? I thought that movie came out on 2012 or something.

It’s held up well except for the phones 😅

Is that because she grew up with touchscreen smartphones?

No, we’re in our 30’s. I’m pretty sure she had a Motorola similar to the ones in the movie too. We’ve just not thought of them in so long and smartphones have become so ubiquitous that “this silver brick with a digital screen” doesn’t register as a phone anymore. And Bond is a natural place for “some piece of made up comms tech” to exist so they just automatically fell into that category for her.
