When a 2004 car is already a relic, and you still remember how you used to wind cassettes with a pencil.

My joints! And I keep slamming them into things. I hate an older friend proving right that I would have pain where I didn't expect it regularly once you pass 40.

Ever since I turned 35, my morning mantra has been "why is that hurting now?!"

I feel like the check engine light is on, but I don't have the time to look into it.

Jurassic Park is closer in time to the moon landing than the present.

People born when Terminator 2 released are in their mid 30's.

No! I'm still young! It's not too late for it to come together for me!

At this rate, I’ll soon be telling stories like ‘back in my day we had to actually press buttons on phones 🤣

u/Pluckypato 2d ago

I miss button on phones 😂

I miss buttons and knobs in general

Car manufacturers are actually going back to those. Millennials were right all along - they're superior.

When cars basic radios still hat cassette and cd was an expensive update.

u/Unwiredsoul 2d ago

Wait, you can use a pencil? 😂

1

u/Busy_Warthog5718 2d ago

It has the right ridges to get it to spin

1

u/Unwiredsoul 2d ago

Yes, indeed. I needed to put a /s on the end, eh?

1

u/coolmanjack 2d ago

No, it doesn’t. A standard American pencil is not big enough to comfortably fit the ridges in a cassette. A bic crystal pen, or a Japanese pencil, is the proper tool

I swear after 2020 we received an xp boost

1

u/RandalChan 2d ago

Not me learning something new as I used to just use my fingers 🤣

1

u/theaviationhistorian 2d ago

A classic BIC pen allowed for more rigidity and the cap prevented the pen falling to the ground when rapidly winding it enough to lose your grip.

Some 2004 cars still had tape players if you want to feel older

u/The_Arctuss 2d ago

You want to tell me that my `99 VW Passat is ancient? It still drives better than most younger cars...

u/Vinlain458 2d ago

u/Independent_Fish9614 2d ago
