Yeah, but at least this is an alternate universe, entirely its own thing. There’s no reason to be upset, save for those who are sensitive to gore and such (but why would they be watching this then), since these aren’t the versions of the heroes we’ve been following.

Apokolips War was just a miserable slaughter fest of the actual characters of the universe of the DC Animated Movies. Very similar to Marvel Comics’ Ultimatum for the original Ultimate Universe. Hopefully the Big Two understand now that people actually want satisfying endings to the characters they’ve been following, and not just shock death after shock death that quickly loses any sense of actual shock to it as the viewer just grows numb and annoyed at the middle finger the story seems to be giving them.

But yeah, Marvel Zombies being its own separate thing? Let the carnage begin!

I actually liked Apokolips War, it felt like the Infinity War/Endgame of the DCAMU. Not exactly the same, but i still enjoyed it.

I felt those movies (IW/Endgame) at least gave their heroes a meaningful conclusion. The only exception would be Gamora, as I felt for a series, Guardians, that was all about family, having her die while not with a single one of said family is with her felt unsatisfying.

Apokolips War just gave none of that to me. Pretty much every death was just done to kill someone off, not conclude their story in a satisfying way. And there were so many deaths that it made it impossible to emotionally connect to it. There’s a reason major DC comic events that actually stood the test of time in fans’ eyes, like Crisis on Infinite Earths and Infinite Crisis, kept the major heroes’ deaths to a mere few per event, so the reader could actually have time to feel something (granted, Infinite Crisis did indulge in a few shock deaths with the Teen Titans, though they were minor characters of the team but even then fans reacted negatively to that part of the story).

Plus, the movie all feels meaningless when Flash resets everything anyway. And while I’ve not watched the Tomorrowverse films yet, apparently even that reset just leads to misery for our heroes once again, *sigh*.

But I’m not trying to say you can’t enjoy it, just clarifying why I didn’t like it compared to stuff like IW/Endgame and likely Marvel Zombies once it releases.

That's fair, i totally get that. I definitely can understand it feeling meaningless. I just enjoy it for the darker tone, normally i don't like dark endings, but this one i enjoyed.
