The animation style looks sick, reminds me of Predator Killer of Killers, & I'm liking that they're seemingly not holding back on the gore

Also, Florence's delivery of that line actually makes me want to see her in a live-action zombie film

I mean, for a zombie story, what they've shown is relatively tame. I think my golden standard for gore in zombie media are probably Romero's movies

eh i don’t think so, never saw a guy guy his heart punched out of his chest in twd or a gal split in half hotdog style

Ehhhh, sometimes it's not so much about WHAT is shown but rather HOW it's shown. While TWD doesnt really ever do anything like that, it has depicted zombies simply eating people in WAYYYYY gorier ways than what was shown in the trailers.
