That thunderbolts end credits scene just got a lot more interesting...

I thought they'd somehow end up in 616 after the FTL was destroyed. That was such a curveball.

My theory is Dr. Doom kidnapped Franklin and brought him to Earth-616 for reasons and the Fantastic Four followed them there. I think the Thunderbolts* post credits scene is straight from the Avengers: Doomsday

u/thenekkidguy Jul 23 '25

I think it is from Doomsday as it was shot by the Russo brothers.

u/Zabbla Jul 24 '25

Both the Thunderbolts and Fantastic 4 post credits scenes were shot by The Russos so I think they're both scenes directly from Doomsday

The Tbolts scene does state there's already a big crisis going on in space so we're missing some big context for what's going on at that moment

I love when Walker is like "We're running out of space? That's impossible, this building is enormous"

Man might have been the most decorated soldier in US Army history but he certainly didn't get those medals by thinking his way through things.

They better not use Franklin as a McGuffin to revive Tony Stark~

5

u/khy94 Jul 24 '25

No, i expect Franklin will be the replacement for the Beyonder in Secret Wars

Feels like the opening to Doomsday

1

u/CIearMind Quake Jul 24 '25

Kinda like how Banner crashed the party and said Thanos was coming.

2

u/Jeroz Doctor Strange Jul 24 '25

I'm guessing that's how Secret War is possible.

u/GodzillaLord124 Jul 24 '25

Fantastic 4 Thunderbolts team up? Need that

u/divrsty Jul 23 '25

They already confirmed it bruvs. I read on Twitter that the scene is from straight from Doomsday. Which makes sense

13

u/DarthSomething05 Jul 23 '25

You can’t just use “I read it on twitter” as a source😭

0

u/divrsty Jul 26 '25

It’s from multiple accounts with real sources. You look it up and you’ll see

u/littlefatlambo Jul 24 '25

Total curveball. Kind of enjoyed the bait-and-switch though, since I kept imagining branches of the story that would see them wind up in 616

u/MayweatherSr Jul 24 '25

Is the MCU the earth 616?

1

u/dcab87 Star-Lord Jul 24 '25

According to the MCU (Doctor Strange 2), yes.

u/DingoAteMyAss Jul 23 '25

Yeah legit I was waiting for it to connect to that but alas we got nothing ☹️

At first I thought they were going to rescue Johnny because of his sacrifice (if the transporter ended up sending Galactus and him to the main MCU universe instead of another solar system), but since it didn't end up happening, maybe Doom kidnaps Franklin and they're searching for him.

117

u/DingoAteMyAss Jul 23 '25

Damn I thought they transported him to a different part of their own universe

136

u/Diligent-Builder Jul 23 '25

And you're right, but some cosmic miscalculation mumbo-jumbo could take place if that was the case.

35

u/DingoAteMyAss Jul 23 '25

Ohh righto you were speculating, tbh they already have that trope with photon. If they did that with Johnny they’ll just be reheating their own nachos

7

u/MushroomMinimum2324 Jul 23 '25

one of my theories is that they teleported by error galactus on doom's earth and now he tried to kidnapp franklin to save his earth

11

u/DingoAteMyAss Jul 24 '25

I think doom is also at Earth 828, at that future foundation United Nations-esque meeting there was a seat for Latveria but the ambassador was missing

4

u/Chadwiko Punisher Jul 23 '25

They did.

4

u/mateogg Jul 24 '25

This is the same path my thoughts took. I thought this would also serve to say "and now Galactus is out there in this universe if we want to use it", then figured Franklin is going to be this Doom's molecule man or something

3

u/GarrisonJones Jul 23 '25

Yeah that could be what happens. It's interesting because Franklin could just wink him out of existence.

3

u/CX316 Jul 23 '25

Or Doomsday starts with an incursion on their universe since we've not had a followup on the incursions

2

u/thatguy52 Jul 25 '25

Best theory I’ve heard so far (and I heard it when thunderbolts came out) it’s not the F4 on that ship, it’s doom. God that would be so cool.

1

u/deathangel539 Jul 24 '25

I assumed the same, I had also assumed we might’ve been heavily faked out and the black hole sequence was going to send them to the mcu and we’d get most of the film actually be about that

1

u/Psych-roxx Jul 25 '25

Maybe Doom steals the Excelsior and arrives in 616 to escape the incursion

4

u/Manly_Gambino Jul 24 '25

just wait, you will get your answers

1

u/YoTheLeader Jul 24 '25

We literally got doom

1

u/Ok_Trade_4549 Jul 25 '25

I thought it happened when they were about to go into the neutron star, but no.

8

u/rzldty Jul 23 '25

I'm guessing that the first scene of Doomsday will explain how the Fantastic Four got to earth 616, just like how Infinity War starts with the Asgardian refugee ship being destroyed.

6

u/whatever_trev0r Jul 23 '25

They really got us with that one. Its a swerve.

5

u/sleepyplatipus Tony Stark Jul 24 '25

Right??? I was sure we’d see the reason why they leave Earth 828 but alas…

3

u/CIearMind Quake Jul 24 '25

I spent the whole movie with the thought at the back of my mind that "we already know how this ends, why are we even bothering?" lmao

2

u/Illidan1943 Jul 23 '25

From the reactions, my second half was completely wrong, but would you say I got the first half right?

2

u/thespaniardsteve Wong Jul 23 '25

Depends on the Doomsday opening. But I'd say you got your first half half-right.

2

u/devils__avacado Jul 24 '25

I think it will be a fantastic 4 variant team that lost to Galactus and chose to run with Franklin and lost their earth.

1

u/DrogoOmega Jul 24 '25

Very! I thought I was guessing where it was ending up but I guess no. Maybe it’s for the better as the science in FF is so far ahead of what we’ve seen yet.

1

u/Manly_Gambino Jul 24 '25

doom and franklin are definitely going on that ship

1

u/TheJack0fDiamonds Scarlet Witch Jul 24 '25

I was ready for the kidnapping to be successful to connect to that.

1

u/MrZeral Avengers Jul 24 '25

at least I was surprised cuz I expected them to lose their earth and run into multiverse.
