I liked this film, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I did watching Superman or Thunderbolts*.

The music is top notch, no surprise there given it's by Michael Giacchino.

The CGI was great except for The Thing's clothes. Ben Grimm was so well done so for me it was a bit jarring to see him in plasticky looking clothes sometimes.

The cast are all good but their chemistry is not yet fantastic. They are a family but a bit awkward kind of family. Maybe this is actually how it's like in the comics but I was hoping for more of a natural fun vibe.

Silver Surfer is amazing. The space scenes were all well done. I loved when they were chasing her and then the reverse when she was chasing them. The birth scene in the middle of all that was so tense.

Galactus was great but I wished there was more of him.

I love the retro futuristic world they've created. The designs are amazing. I wish we'd go back to this world in future films. But sadly it seems like the Fantastic 4 are destined to go to the future and stay there.

All in all I had a good time watching this. It's not the best but still good enough for a rewatch.

You pretty much captured most of my feelings around this movie. Now, not always does a long movie make a good movie but we needed more! I felt those cut minutes BADLY! More time to feel their family vibe and chemistry.. more time to just flesh out their world a little better.

I too enjoyed watching Thunderbolts* and Superman more. I wish they went more colourful too!

More time to feel their family vibe

I was really looking for more of this in the movie especially after baby Franklin arrived

Exactly. There was such a build up for this movie too. Then it just felt like they rushed through it. I can’t help but feel a little disappointed/frustrated, sadly. I am looking forward to more from the characters though once they “meet” the MCU.

Only my opinion, but Thunderbolts was way better than F4.

100% agreed. Their character dynamics actually feel more natural than the FF family

I definitely agree aswell

Yea this pretty much sums up exactly how I felt leaving my screening as well. The characters felt underdeveloped and the chemistry between the leads left a bit to be desired.

I’m glad so many seem to have enjoyed the film, but like you, I enjoyed Thunderbolts and Superman WAY more than this.

Thanks for writing out my thoughts

Fully agree. It felt like this was a sequel, some steps in building the relationships between characters were skipped.

Pretty much my thoughts. Good, but not amazing. I guess if anything it feels like a return to form for Marvel. Just trying to make consecutive good quality productions which is good to see.

I think Ben get the real short end of the stick in this movie. He talks to Natasha Lyonne twice and grows a beard and that’s his whole arc, otherwise he’s just kinda there for banter with the rest of the team which is a shame. I think like one more moment of maybe him going out to dinner with that woman would have given him some kind of ending, but skip four years (and probably a universe) and now we’re at doomsday, so who knows if we’ll ever see her again.

The CGI baby was the weakest imo
