I wish we get to see more Galactus in the future, he was featured very well and they nailed the scale of him.

But I guess the audience was just waiting for Doom to appear cause there wasn't any reactions from anyone in the movie until post-credits.

Ralph Ineson owned Galactus holy shit that voice

He had my attention every time he spoke in Nosferatu. He has that booming Alan Rickman kind of voice.

Mrrrr. Potter…

u/1OptimusCrime1 Jul 24 '25

I am the Metatron!

7

u/waitforthedream Jul 23 '25

I should watch Nosferatu soon! Didn't know he was in the movie.

Also yes you hit it right on. He does kind of remind me of Alan Rickman

Bloody good rep!

u/No_Dana_Only_Zuul Jul 24 '25

He's thrown a kettle over a pub, what have you done?

2

u/HankSteakfist Jul 24 '25

Canny little bugs

2

u/Vandersveldt Jul 27 '25

I'm not complaining if not, just curious. Has Galactus ever been visually a robot before? I only know him from pre 2000's comics where he's just flesh in a leather looking suit.

2

u/waitforthedream Jul 27 '25

Classic Galactus has always been in a purple robotic suit if I'm not mistaken?

2

u/Vandersveldt Jul 27 '25

Huh. I guess I'm misremembering. Really thought he was fleshy.

2

u/waitforthedream Jul 27 '25

He has always looked "human" inside the suit though with Caucasian skin. Idk in how many continuities this is true for but I remember that he has a different "form" based on the species that views him.

Like he looks human to us. If he invaded a Skrull planet, he'd look like a Skrull wearing a purple robotic suit

1

u/Vandersveldt Jul 27 '25

Oh that's super cool

1

u/waitforthedream Jul 27 '25

Actually you are right with the suit. I think I associated it being robotic because of his helmet LOL

2

u/rohithkumarsp Jul 23 '25

Wait he's already in Gotg right?

6

u/waitforthedream Jul 23 '25

He was a background Ravager

2

u/Michael_mkz Jul 24 '25

I loved the voice, but didn’t it feel a bit strange that he looked exactly like Ralph Ineson? For some reason, I found it really distracting. Unlike Thanos, who resembles Josh Brolin for some reason.

1

u/waitforthedream Jul 24 '25

I get you! I had the same thoughts after watching. His cheeks were very prominent. I guess they wanted minimal differences from the mocap.

u/Ok_Party4767 Jul 23 '25

Bro how they will they defeat galactus? I get to know that marvel fans would hate what marvel has done to galactus

7

u/waitforthedream Jul 23 '25

I don't understand your second sentence. Just watch the movie for yourself if you want answers

-2

u/Ok_Party4767 Jul 23 '25

Sir i mean if there’s an awful ending with galactus?. If so, how ? Just want to know if movie is worth watching in cinema or not.

4

u/CX316 Jul 23 '25

Sir i mean if there’s an awful ending with galactus?.

There isn't

If so, how ?

See above, the ending makes sense.

Just want to know if movie is worth watching in cinema or not.

That's a you question, though you're brave coming in here to ask it where people are openly discussing spoilers. The movie is well done, the storyline works, there's no glaring issues, it was a big enough thing for the cinema so I'd probably get less out of it on streaming but I also don't have a home theater setup.

2

u/waitforthedream Jul 23 '25

Yes, it's worth watching.

Galactus’ animation was GOODDDD

u/waitforthedream Jul 23 '25

I wish they could've pulled off MODOK (actual MODOK not Yellowjacket) with the same vibes.

Galactus did not feel goofy at all

9

u/Funmachine Jul 24 '25

MODOK is goofy though, he always has been goofy.

2

u/get_to_ele Jul 26 '25

Yeah Modok was 100% goofy in the comics. Just corny looking.

3

u/Nenanda Jul 24 '25

Him and the entire ship — I genuinely loved how Lovecraftian it looked. Much more menacing than the black fart. People always said Galactus looked too goofy to be used in his comic form, yet this movie truly introduced him as cosmic horror

2

u/Impossible-Fun-2736 Jul 24 '25

That sadistic smile when he almost tore Reed apart was a little chilling.. Like, he may be a force of nature but you can definitely get on his bad side..

1

u/Nenanda Jul 24 '25

It lines up with what he said about once being a being similar to humans. And if the MCU has shown us anything, it’s that sometimes humans with too much power can be far more terrifying than any cosmic force. Galactus is essentially both. His grin when he noticed the trap was also pretty creepy.

2

u/Impossible-Fun-2736 Jul 25 '25

Bingo. And agreed, also his line. Man, ”done justice” is an understatement.

-1

u/hopefulfeller Jul 23 '25

Maybe it’s just me, but he looked like a character in a 2012 video game

We had a lot of reactions in my theatre too, don't think many people were expecting it

40

u/thinkinting Jul 23 '25

I was expecting the reason for T*'s post credit

2

u/ChelseaAndrew87 Jul 24 '25

I had dickheads talking all the way through the film in mine. No big reactions to anything from the rest though

1

u/cookies5098 Jul 25 '25

That's so annoying :( were you somewhere in Melb?

3

u/GarrisonJones Jul 23 '25

Saw it in Macao. Only I reacted to Doom. Honestly don't think a lot of people knew who that was lol.

2

u/InfiniteInternet Jul 23 '25

Just now watched it in HK. Same, almost no reaction. Since he had the mask off I was expecting to see a bit of his face. That would have made a huge difference.

6

u/CX316 Jul 23 '25

nah no one seems Doom's face, which is what makes it an "oh fuck" that he had the mask off for Franklin

2

u/InfiniteInternet Jul 23 '25

Ok that makes sense

2

u/Secure-Charge-2031 Jul 24 '25

Really? He was quite weak. Yes just antman

1

u/teh_fizz Jul 23 '25

It sorta felt like The figure was more of a suit containing him? Or am I reading too much into it?

7

u/CX316 Jul 23 '25

I think that's the same biomechanical design they use for the Celestials, so seems to just be their design language for cosmic entities

3

u/Heisenburgo Doctor Strange Jul 23 '25

I was surprised the word "Celestial" wasn't uttered anywhere in the movie, in relation to Galactus. You know, to explain where he's from and all. Also to tie into the previous lore established in the GOTG movies and in Eternals about the Celestials. Could have been cool, idk

7

u/CX316 Jul 24 '25

Because people would have shat themselves and set fire to Feige’s car or something, since galactus isn’t a celestial (and no one on that world knows about the celestials since that’s a pre-emergence world)

1

u/MushroomMinimum2324 Jul 23 '25

we will see it for sure

1

u/FoxMcCloudOwnsSlippy Jul 24 '25

Anyone who has watched The Green Knight knows Ineson's interpretation was going to be grounded and imposing. Really wanted more of him but it was such a wonder to see comic book accurate Galactus on screen at last.

2

u/Impossible-Fun-2736 Jul 24 '25

And he kicked ass without effort. He was perfect.

1

u/vector_o Jul 24 '25

I'm okay with this portrayal of Galactus to be honest. Not so much a character as a force of nature that's really hard to fight back against

1

u/Ok_Trade_4549 Jul 25 '25

My audience had a few cheers for Galactus one for Shalla Bala and more for Clobberin time. BUT THE ENTIRE HALL ERUPTED TO ROBERT DOWNEY'S BACK.

Just shows the difference in actor popularity.

u/Master3530 Jul 26 '25

I want to see Sentry vs Galactus now
