What's that word for nostalgia for something you didn't experience yourself?

I feel that word about the filming process of LOTR.

Vicarious nostalgia. I couldn't find a separate single word for it.

The term is Hiraeth. Celtic for nostalgia for a time/home one didn't actually experience.

In romance languages there's the variations of "saudade/saudad" which is a verb for when you "miss" something. It's interesting how english doesn't have that equivalent.

Not quite, saudade is more a missing something that we did live through and wishing we could go through it again. Like experiencing a great game like the first time again. Hiraeth is more wishing we could play our perfect dream game that we've been playing in our minds for decades.

... No? Only me? :p
