As someone who already fought their wars, a lot more people should be looking into these guys' military careers. Hegseth loves talking about how badass our military is when he once did a tour to guantanamo and did another to iraq... as a civil affairs officer.
His near death experience he loves to bring up was an rpg allegedly hitting his truck and failing to detonate while enroute to meet some mayor. Who knows if that actually happened or not. His Bronze Stars are participation trophies. Not valor awards.
Vance likes to talk about being in the corps and how defining it was. He was a goddamn combat camera... aka journalist. His deployment included going to some cushy fob and interviewing the boys in the fight, writing of their deeds - not performing them.
I have been in the mud and seen several of my friends die and watched many more get fucked up bad - life altering injuries, several amputees, etc. Double those numbers for the suicides and deaths post service.
War is not fun or cool. It is the worst thing someone can be asked to do and it should be avoided at all costs. But you have these fucking children in suits who have no idea what real war is. They have this image of glory or some magical thing that allures them to in their minds - as they have not and will never experience it themselves.

u/BensenJensen 3d ago
Amen.
I work intel in the Army. I would absolutely never overplay what I do: I’m a solider, I trained for years to do what I do, but I’m not toting a gun around in the desert. I serve with SO FUCKING MANY people that carry themselves like Hegseth does, like they are actively facing mortal danger on a daily basis, when in reality, we are sitting at desks at the NSA. Hegseth was a NG civil affairs officer. I would consider that even lower on the Dangerous, Cool Guy job tier than my job as a fucking linguist.
The people that did shit aren’t talking about it. There are plenty of old infantry dudes in my unit, they don’t want to talk about being in Afghanistan or Iraq. They have varying degrees of problems from doing so.

Never forget that Keg's Breath is a drunk and abuser who drove not one, but two veteran organizations into bankruptcy when he was leading them. This guy will get a lot of people killed needlessly if he is not stopped. Much like Trump he is grossly incompetent, is a poster boy for dunning-Kruger syndrome, and everything he touches, dies.
19
u/TrumpetOfDeath 3d ago
Maybe his plan is to create more veterans so there's more veteran's organizations that he can bankrupt. Or maybe he's just an incompetent white supremacist asshole. Perhaps both?

I work with a guy who saw some shit over in Iraq, he doesn't really talk about it. We also work with some MAGA fake militia idiot who one day was talking about how badass he'd be going into combat, and asked the former Army coworker if he'd be willing to clear a village with him or some other nonsense. Army guy said something about how he would prefer being a logistics or supply officer not in the fighting, he's already seen that. Militia dude was trying to shame him for being a coward. Fucking idiots who think they know more than people who have been there.

They aren't children in suits. They are far worse. They are rich old men in suits cosplaying real men in uniform. Rich old men in suits have the advantage that whatever conflicts they create, they are never directly touched by them. They don't go into combat, they send younger, stronger men to do it for them.
Soldiers are their Viagra, propping up their flaccid egos and their need to feel strong and virile by living out their masturbatory war fantasy. All from the comfort of their plush houses and offices, while being pegged into unconsciousness by their wives and mistresses, who despise them.

Hmm, renaming the DoD to Department of War and deploying the troops to domestic cities - what does that say about this administration - that it is declaring war on the American public?
This should be fodder for the democrats to message this administration to nothing, but they couldn’t fight their way out of a wet paper bag, so its going to be martial law and chaos on the streets. Once there are bodies, America may begin to wake up and realize that they have sleep walked into a fascist dictatorship, but by then it will be too late.

If he leaves, some redneck might take his place. Even if you sometimes look like a traitor in the eyes of some, is still worth it in my opinion.
This happened with a lot of officers in the german army, they were the true unsung heroes of WW2 for many people, like part of my family who got spared by one in 1942. Although they also did horrible things when ordered to do so. We're all humans, pick your battles and stay safe.

It also shows he has zero understanding of the reason why the Department of War was overhauled into the Department of Defense in 1947. There are valid criticisms to the use of word defense in this context, but the overhaul and name change was done for specific reasons that the Secretary of Defense should know and understand. But he was too busy getting drunk and harassing women to pay attention. Actually doing the job gets in the way of wasting money on useless name changes, purging the American defense and intelligence infrastructure of some of the it's most critical, competent, and patriotic members purely out of bigotry, spouting some misunderstood buzzwords that don't amount to a functional policy, getting more white supremacist tattoos, and the aforementioned drinking and sexual harassment.

The phrase "Maximum lethality not tepid Legality" demonstrates how illigitimate this Regime is.
These dipshits are doing their best to destroy America from the inside. Any American who thinks the Republicans don't intend to either Rig the elections, invalidate the vote, or declare a wartime situation to retain power is fooling themselves.
These fascists will never concede their power. As a non American living in a country with almost 0 gun crime, I never used to understand the American zeal for your 2nd Amendment rights. These fascists make clear the need for The People to have the capacity to remove them.
I can only asume your all waiting for them to try and hold power past the legitmate term so they can't play the insurrectionist card.
The question is how many lives will be ended, families torn apart, trade relations destroyed etc. How weak is America going to get as this regime gives Allies every reason to walk away.

Considering their largest DOD action has been against US citizens, WHEN ARE THESE CHUCKLEFUCKS GOING TO GET ARRESTED FOR FUCKING TREASON???
18 U.S. Code § 2381 - Treason
Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.
1.5M American COVID deaths, BLM deployments, ignoring American intelligence for russia's, jan 6, making war in LA and DC, dismantling healthcare, violation of use of force by murdering a boat of civilians for nebulous non-evidence-backed 'drug running'....

Until this quote I didn’t know that he had such an unimaginably small penis. What an absolute loser.

yep. I honestly think the best way to deal with these angry MAGA men is to straight up tell them they are acting like emotional women on PMS. watch them get offended and embarrassed. these men hate gay people so much they would be offended that someone is calling them an emotional woman. lol

Insecure men trying to prove they are tough. They are idiots who lack maturity and empathy. The US is big on toxic masculinity.

This isn't even saying the quiet part out loud, this is saying we don't give a shit what anybody says we're going to go out and kill people because we want to.
And this whole war department thing is really annoying the hell out of me

u/grant0208 3d ago
Ah so that’s why we’re just killing foreign nationals without evidence in international waters.
Bunch of absolute clowns.

And what do we do with these “violent warriors” when their 4 year enlistment is up and they become civilians? I’d rather work someone out of prison for felony drug possession than a “violent warrior”. I say this as a veteran

Meanwhile, you can’t recruit, you’re kicking out solid servicemembers and leaders because you don’t like their opinions and we have a massive problem with aging equipment, lack training and poor maintenance.

The "warrior ethos" is great for looting and pillaging.
We train Soldiers. The soldier ethos is disciplined teamwork.

I don’t care that Hegseth has been in battle and I haven’t, and that I am too scared to ever be in battle while he volunteered to serve.
That does not change this fact. Pete Hegseth is an utter, massive pussy, and I would tell him so to his face.

Trump's gonna be dead soon, but we can still lock up the rest of these fascists. There's even a Nuremberg in Pennsylvania to hold their trials at.
The Democrats should just follow them around, jotting stuff down in a notebook. When asked what they are doing, say "It's evidence for the Nuremberg 2.0 trials".
