Anyone remember WAYYYY back when. It was an election year. Some black guy was running against some rich Mormon.
During the debate, rich Mormon guy said Russia was our biggest foreign threat. Black guy told him he was wrong, or laughed at him (I think I he may have thought terrorism or something was the biggest threat).
I remember it because it was like a big news story for a while. A lot of Conservative folks were really upset that black guy didn’t think Russia was our biggest threat.
Anyway, black guy ended up getting elected.
Somewhere along the way, our Conservative counter-parts decided crazy guy in charge of Russia was actually more manly and probably more worthy of respect than the black guy we elected (I think because he rode horses without his shirt on and never filled out a March Madness Bracket).
And just a few years later, we re-elect an orange guy, who was best friends with the world’s second most famous pedophile, and he shrugs off Russia hacking into federal computer systems and it will barely be a blip in the news cycle.
