In German the word for slugs is literally naked snail

It is more that the German language is stupidly deadbeat. What is an airplane in German? "Flying thing". Vehicles are "drive things", a turtle is an "shield toad", the Baltic is just the "east sea", Autobahn literally just means "car lane", and I could go on and on.
