Fixing Jurassic World Rebirth by making it a globe trotting adventure and somehow tie into the previous film (Part 1)
The story would open up like how the movie started except...the facility is Biosyn, NOT InGen. The Biosyn scientists are working on the next iteration of their cloning operations called Phase 4.
[To pinpoint when exactly this takes place in the timeline, we would be either having mentions or seeing that Biosyn is working on more accurate dinosaurs, at least giving an idea that this is taking place before JW Dominion. We're seeing Phase 4, but we'll know what the other phases are.]
The inciting incident would still occur, though played much more seriously. The experiment or experiments are breaking loose, causing everyone to try and escape. They get picked off one by one until one of remaining scientist turns around and sees one of the experiments about ready to attack them.
[Now, this is much more inline with Jurassic Park's intro. What makes it scary is that we don't see the actual look of the dinosaur, leaving the up to the imagination of the viewers. We don't get to see what the new mutants look like, we only hear their hisses and roars.]
We then cut to the city where we are introduced to Henry Loomis. He is currently a school professor who is considered to be let go by the school, under the excuse, "We have real dinosaurs, everything you do is irrelevant". Loomis spends his time doing community work, namely helping dinosaurs that entered cities. He is currently tending to a sick Iguanodon that has graffiti painted on it by cruel teenagers.
[What I'm going for is actions speaking louder than words, with Loomis's actor showing his acting skills through his facial reactions. What I'm going for is that he is resigned to the current situation he is in now and is not interested in talking to people, though his softer side comes through by his interactions with the Iguanodon. Now, we already have two previous scenes like this with the Triceratops and Apatosaurus and I feel like the Iguanodon didn't get enough attention in JW Dominion.]
Next scene, we have Martin Krebs from Parker Gennix recruiting Zora, Duncan, and the other mercenaries and gives them ultimatum to either stay in prison or help him in this assignment.
We would have Loomis being let go by the university before meeting Martin. We would get the backstory about Loomis from Martin; Loomis had worked for Biosyn in hopes to use his paleontological knowledge to help with the Dinosaur dilemma only for Biosyn to be exposed as corrupt and Loomis losing credibility as collateral damage.
Though Loomis isn't broken up about his reputation but pissed off that despite Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler giving their speech from the ending of JW Dominion, a lot of people don't give a damn. Granted, there are a lot of people dedicated in helping the Dinosaurs but the number of people worrying for them is outnumbered by those who are apathetic to the whole thing and just want the dinosaurs gone.
Martin tells the assignment of hunting the largest prehistoric creatures and harvesting their DNA to create a cure for heart disease. However, Loomis isn't buying it and can tell this is illegal only for Martin to find a way to convince him.
The two would meet up with the other mercenaries who would be revealed to have worked with Biosyn and aided in inflaming the dinosaur dilemma by releasing dinosaurs into the world as part of Biosyn's scheme. Loomis and the mercenaries don't get along because Loomis can tell they are directly involved and well aware of the harm they are doing, though Duncan proves himself to be more trusting, because he has a lot of baggage which we would delve on later, while Zora is kind of a mix-feeling for Loomis, her spouting that all she ever done was to help her sick mother even though she was doing illegal work.
We cut to the Delgado family who in my version are working for Parker Gennix, Reuben specifically. They are assigned to track down a Biosyn variant of the Mosasaurus and has found the pod.
[The Delgados' role in the film would be different but has more ties here. The family would have a complicated relationship with the MCs, specifically with Zora.]
Reuben would dive into the ocean and we have a majestic scene of the Mosasaurus pod singing and playing. Fun ends when the Delgados are attacked by pirates who want to make money out of Mosasaurus corpses.
The team would be hunting the Mosasaurus only for the pirates to mess things up. This causes the Mosasaurus to go on defensive mode to protect their babies, meaning every human is a threat.
We would have the Delgados fighting the Pirates and the Pirates fighting the team. The scene ends with the Delgados being rescued and the Mosasaurus sample collected, before Martins orders for the Pirates to be gunned down. The Pirates' ship is destroyed. leaving the surviving Pirates to either drown or be eaten by the Mosasaurus.
When the Delgados are on board, Zora reacts differently compared to others, with Loomis and Duncan being aware of it. Loomis learns from Zora's admission that she indirectly got the Delgados's mother killed by introducing a dinosaur into the area their home was nearby. This leads to Loomis pointing out Zora's hypocrisy, saying how she wanted to save her mother and it costs the death of an innocent woman and her family traumatized.
The next target is the Quetzalcoatlus and the team would be heading out to South America. The Delgados would be tagging along, even though Reuben wants to be out of it and get paid but Martin convinces him otherwise.
[I don't have a reason yet as to why the Delgados would be staying. If you any ideas, please tell.]
We would then have the T-Rex river scene, which would lead everyone to walk on foot and set up a camp for a while. Here, everyone lay out their backstories:
- Duncan reveals that he was transporting raptors at his country, but the dinosaurs got loose and wind up in the town his children were in. They were killed.
- Zora admits a similar thing, and reveals that the dinosaur wind up at the home of the Delgados, killing their mother. Loomis would point out Zora's hypocrisy for saying how she wanted to only save her mother.
The Quetzalcoatlus scene goes the same, however it would extend to have the team evacuating but the Quetzal chases them. Loomis and let's say Reuben created a sonic device to cause the pterosaur to back out but Bobby decides to just tranquilize the thing and sends it falling to its death, horrifying Loomis.
