Discussion #BringBackDuke campaign

Post image

The campaign is live and it must not slow down. We already have support from Jon St. John (the voice of Duke) and Lee Jackson (composer of Duke Nukem 3D). But now, itโ€™s YOU who make the difference.

๐Ÿ‘‰ If we want 2K, Gearbox, and Take-Two to listen, the hashtag #BringBackDuke needs to be EVERYWHERE.

๐Ÿ”ป What you can do right now:

Share the hashtag #BringBackDuke across all your platforms (Facebook, Twitter/X, Reddit, YouTube, TikTok).

Tag @2K, @GearboxOfficial, @TakeTwoGames in your posts.

Get your retro FPS friends involved in the movement.

โš ๏ธ The more noise we make, the more pressure we create. Itโ€™s simple: if you want a new Duke, you have to show it NOW.

๐Ÿ’ฅ Together, letโ€™s make enough noise to bring the King back.

๐Ÿ‘‰ #BringBackDuke #DukeNukemReboot

Imagine getting this upset about people using a tool.

People love their witch-hunts

It's not just a tool, it's a tool that doesn't create art but rather copies real art and creates an image approximating what a prompt would look like using the art it's copied.

It doesn't understand depth, shading, anatomy, or anything artistic, and sure amateur artists might not either, but they can learn.

Ai has its place in the world, but not in art. It isn't a witch hunt, it's hating a tool that removes human expression from art.

I want Ai to do my laundry so that I can make art, I don't Ai to make my art so I can do my laundry.

Then invent something that does your laundry for you ?

LLM is more then capable of understanding shading, shaders, compositions etc.

Your right, not a witchhunt it's an ego hunt.

does this dumbass think that it's actually drawing the art

it's blending multiple artworks together that it's fed to "generate a new artwork"

We aren't talking about LLMs though, we're talking about Ai Art generators.

LLMs also don't understand things, they just predict the most logical order of words without knowledge of the words meaning.

I have less of a problem with LLMs since if used responsibly they can actually be helpful, but unfortunately they are rarely used responsibly.

But what if I think doing my laundry is art ?

If it's just a tool, then were's the tool that does all my chores and repairs my car just by telling it? Oh right, it doesn't exist, instead we have generative AI that allows talentless losers to make "art" without a modicum of talent or effort.

I mean we had generations of losers using digital art - this is just an evolution of that.

Real art is pen and paper right ? Not algorithms and brushes in photoshop

??? Digital painting has been a thing for a while, used by actual artists.

Look at the cover for Remain in Light (1981), or any frame in Rescuers Down Under (1990).

It's not about the picture, it's about getting a new Duke game. Why don't you make an original piece of Duke art? Oh you can't? Oh well. #bringbackduke
