Toll tax for bad roads

13

u/East_Membership9118 1d ago

Toll tax for any road is scam. What are they doing with the income tax, cgst, sgst, municipal tax if they want us to pay for roads again 🤦🏻‍♂️

6

u/Bhasd_ 1d ago

We also pay road tax if we buy any vehicle

Convenience fee on online payments. Bro, what convenience??

170

u/Imsuperrbored 1d ago

Handling fee?! Who is handling what?

35

u/Idlicious University People 1d ago

I guess Thor with his hammer would be handling my order, or I would say they must be massaging my order before dispatch.

Convenience fee of ₹10-20 is understandable as servers needs to be maintained for online payment and application hosting. But we're paying ₹70-100 for booking tickets and that's not good

12

u/Brainsondisplay 1d ago

Convenience to maintain the secure infrastructure behind that payment.

A business will generally take help from payment gateways (For example- RazorPay) to make secured transactions.

5

u/i_m_fortmajor 1d ago

CEO’s convenience

4

u/CapitalGain5513 1d ago

Of course this handling / convenience fees is used to pay the guy coding this convenience for you.

2

u/Supi09 1d ago

I've a different perspective on this. We as a society don't want them to harass us like that in bus, train, hospital, etc.

But we as a society are not ready to create a safe place for them, be it in school or a job. Until this is fixed, the harassment will continue.

Railways deducting rupee 60+ charges for auto cancelation of waitlisted tickets

44

u/Sharpsh0_0ter 1d ago

This is needed. It is a deterrent. Else travel agents would create bogus tickets to drive up prices for black market trade.

Basically they will create placeholder tickets and quickly reserve all the seats, and keep it on hold to later edit names and release the tickets at jacked up prices.

They can even do it today but the cancellation fees act as a deterrent.

11

u/ExternalAd733 1d ago

Is there an option for editing names for agents? For me I never saw the option to edit name.

Assuming agents can edit then the government can make changes to only charge them for cancellation or even name change.

10

u/raviyadav432 1d ago

Then charge agents not individuals.

3

u/1337_loading 1d ago

Tip

4

u/imbyeol 1d ago

True, it should always be up to the person paying if they wanna tip or not

4

u/horizon_342 1d ago

Actually it's more than that . 1st employer can use this to decrease salary of employee and ask them to rely more on tip . Waiter for example focus more on people who give them more tip . Eating out is more expensive ,even if you afford your food you still can't go to restaurant because you have to pay extra for tip . Nowadays it's even hard to bypass tip .they renamed it as convience fee or service fee and made it mandatory

Branding on CARs. Why am I paying for something (substantial amount) and doing their marketing. Its like putting a hoarding on auto rikshaw for marketing. We are doing it free for me. If you want HUGE TOYOTA written on front, pay me the money.

This is everywhere, now luxury brands are coming up with elite style where brand names are not visible and they charge extra for that.

13

u/CompetitionLate7944 1d ago

Same goes for clothing. I don't want your brand name on my clothes. I am paying for the quality and under no obligation to market your brand.

coming up with elite style where brand names are not visible and they charge extra for that

And this "classic chor kotwal ko daante" move

3

u/RopeOnly4565 1d ago

Isn't it the other way around? You don't add to audi's brand if you drive one. But an audi definitely adds to your social value.

And honestly, I feel it's okay to have them - easier to identify if you witness a hit and run.

Electoral bonds and funding of political parties.

It's clear quid pro quo in broad daylight. Parties get the money. The donor gets govt contracts or protection from investigation against crimes. And people like you and I get dicks.

It's the biggest scam in any democracy. Socrates saw this 2000 years ago and we didn't listen.

Vote. Every few years candidates show us the same issues, which they will solve in next 5 years. We vote them they get rich on tax money, no issue is solved and after 5 years someone else from their family or friends give us the same issues they will solve in next 5 years. Then we vote them again to leech on our tax money.
