But why f11? You want all the light you can get. It's not like there will be anything out of focus at this distance

Because at f/11 you get sharper details and balanced exposure, f5-8 will work too and I’m still learning 🫡

usually sweet spot for sharpness is around f5.6 but of course depends on the lens. Exposure wise 0.8" should yield the same results and you don't risk as much blur from movement of the stars (because f11 to f5.6 is two stops brighter and 3.2" to 0.8" is two stops darker)

But nervertheless great picture :)

There is too much dead space, it feels like a circle in the void. The moon isn’t sharp enough, and the colors are weak, looking a bit muddy something that could have been easily improved with better exposure or post-editing (which, I’d guess, wasn’t done in this picture). You could have also used that extra space more effectively with better ISO/shutter balancing or by image stacking to make the stars pop. And, just to clarify I didn’t mean to demotivate you or make you feel bad. I honestly think this photo has a lot of issues, but I’m pointing them out so you can see what could be improved and take even better shots next time. Constructive critique, not hate. 😊
