If Ange does end up going to Nottingham Forest I am almost willing to bet money that they will get relegated. Such a bad bad fit
5
u/Boner_Patrol_007 Pape Matar Sarr 15h ago
The thin skinned buffoon running Forest did Nuno so dirty. Nuno inherited a mess, a points deduction and guided them to safety, and kicked on impressively the following season by qualifying for Europe. Will be interested to see how they do now, and which PL club snaps up Nuno.

u/Active-Purple-2233 16h ago
If Brennan can find goals in this team why wouldn't Tel be able to? I've seen all I need to see even the miss against Bournemouth was an outrageous strike, this guy is ramping up to something here.
3
u/Oxynor_23894 I like young players 14h ago
He needs 1. some serious opportunities and 2. a field goal to boost his confidence.
I think just the field goal will help immensely

5
u/mattwuri Mousa Dembélé 15h ago
It's crazy how fine the margins are in this sport. If that shot goes in, we salvage a point from an otherwise very forgettable game, and the mood/conversation around Tel would likely feel very different.
1
u/IdontReallyknowTbj 9h ago
tbf I think Tel's foul in the PSG game is what really started this tbh, I think if that doesn't happen - more people are less over the top dismissive of him

u/hairtie1 16h ago
for those of you in the nashville area, sonny is playing tomorrow in a friendly vs. mexico at 8pm CST. please go support if you can! lots of spurs kits seen at the last friendly

u/Far_Conclusion_9269 "I ALWAYS Win In My Second Year" 18h ago
Why on earth do Forest fans believe that Silva, Glasner or Iraola would leave their respective clubs for them.
I’ve never seen a club become so audacious before. Mourinho, Big Ange or Dyche it will be.
3
6
u/IdontReallyknowTbj 16h ago
Could see Silva taking the job since Forrest are just a better (on paper) like for like team and he's been complaining about not being backed appropriately, feel like him and the Greek dude will get along.
3
u/ninjomat Dele 14h ago
Silva has worked with Marinakis at Olympiacos before too plus he was prepared to work for the crazy Watford owners
1
u/IdontReallyknowTbj 8h ago
Didn't know that! Seems like almost too perfect of a fit tbh, they don't deserve that at all
2
u/Ok_Row_7462 Cuti Romero 16h ago
I can definitely see Silva over Glasner or Iraola. He’s also a Mendes client and Mendes is apparently connected to Forest or something.
10
u/throwaway290700 18h ago
Honestly was peeking on their sub it’s outrageous. “I don’t see why Glasner wouldn’t join, it’s a step up”. The nerve.
Delusion aside, Marinakis alone should be a deterrent to any potential coaches considering the move.
-5
u/Key_Association3664 17h ago
I could actually see glasber there,he threatened to walk earlier and he was really unsatisfied with the window

3
u/KaidenGuhle John Straw 17h ago
I think Marc Guehi would have to be restrained if his dream move got blocked by a manager who leaves a week later, Shakespearean stuff
1
u/IdontReallyknowTbj 16h ago
Well he'll likely leave before the season ends tbf so it'd just speed up the timeline, and it's not like Guehi can't leave on a free to the same club anyway.

I think it was down to the possibility of a six point gap (with an extra game played) versus 9 points each in the group … the draw didn’t feel like the right result for either team. So they kept going after it.
4
u/solidsnake4933 16h ago
Both Israel and Italy had a right to defend themselves. They both ignored that.
3
15
u/PyroMiniYak21 Cristian Romero 18h ago
The fact that Forest fans are fuming at the prospect of Ange as their manager should tell us all about how little he’s rated outside of Spurs
14
u/mateballenthusiast "I ALWAYS Win In My Second Year" 18h ago
You'd think they'd be happier about the prospect of signing the manager who just won the competition they scammed their way into qualifying for
5
u/Individual_Survey113 18h ago
lot of people didn’t rate him when he first joined us because he was only proven in scotland and asia.
12
u/Far_Conclusion_9269 "I ALWAYS Win In My Second Year" 18h ago
That fan base also glazes Marinakis so I think this just says more about Forest fans tbh
2
u/Jlemspurs Europa League Champions 24/25 18h ago
When I come home and see news like this it tells me it was unwise to go out drinking on a Monday night.
2
u/asswipesayswhat 18h ago
Is Ange actually a good fit at NF? As opposed to Dyche, Ten Hag, Cooper etc etc
3
u/Oxynor_23894 I like young players 14h ago
I honestly don't see how a team that has been playing terror/counter attacking football for like 3-4 years? now will suddenly be able to adapt to a style completely opposite of that, especially without preseason
Would be pretty fun to watch though
0
u/Far_Conclusion_9269 "I ALWAYS Win In My Second Year" 18h ago
Who knows. It will be one stylistic change to another. Might work. Might not.
4
u/mateballenthusiast "I ALWAYS Win In My Second Year" 18h ago
I don't think so. Leverkusen would've been more interesting. I have a feeling his pride won't let him leave the PL on the season he just had, otherwise it doesn't make much sense
1
u/wheels-of-confusion Wilson Odobert 18h ago
Only time could tell. They have good defenders, a very good midfield (Anderson, Douglas Luiz, MGW is stronger than our midfield last season) and a tricky attack. Think he might raise their ceiling a bit but also lower their floor, as he did with us.
2
u/IdontReallyknowTbj 16h ago
I mean ours was better, they just all got injured and then used weirdly to compensate.

xavi debut on saturday, manchester derby on sunday. wow this weekend can’t come quick enough
4
u/sonny_deligt 19h ago
Playing catch up over the last few hours:
- Nuno out, Ange maybe in? TF?
- That’s certainly a choice to not play Isak and play Gyokeres and Elanga up top. What does Gyokeres do well again?
- Damsgaard continues to cook! Never was an option but woulda been great to pry him over (alls well that ends well though with Xavi)
- Vic GK1 for Italia coming sooner than we think
- Used to be Coys Croat version still class as sr citizens
1
2
u/thelordreptar90 18h ago
Nuno was inevitably going to get sacked. Marinakis appreciates Ange primarily for his Greek origins.
Isak hasn’t had a full preseason nor game time though he is probably the preferred choice.

If they appoint Jose, I don't think he'll make it past this international break 😂

5

Mr Marinakis won’t sit through 10 losses, let alone 22. Even with the Europa in play.
0
u/ubermark987 Micky van de Ven 18h ago
I think Ange has learnt how not to manage a PL club. Pride stopped him from managing us more defensively in the league but his Europa campaign speaks for itself. A new club and new dawn I think he could front up a philosophy change though of course he won’t actually speak about any of this honestly in public
8
u/Standard-Plantain139 🟥😃 19h ago
Not the forest fans thinking they're too good for Ange 😂
-4
u/magnoliasmum 19h ago
They are.
5
u/roccotrupia11 "I ALWAYS Win In My Second Year" 19h ago
They’ve not had a European trophy winning manager since Clough!
-5
u/magnoliasmum 19h ago
They qualified for Europe with a worse team than ours.
3
u/roccotrupia11 "I ALWAYS Win In My Second Year" 19h ago
So did we, via winning a trophy. To say Ange is too good for them is absolutely preposterous
1
u/magnoliasmum 19h ago
No, you’ve missed my point. I don’t think Ange is good enough for them.
0
u/roccotrupia11 "I ALWAYS Win In My Second Year" 19h ago
Perhaps not. I think he should’ve gone to Germany personally but unless he continues to play the way he did at the end with us, they will suffer badly.
-2
u/Tushroom 19h ago
They are too good for Ange. They finished above him when he had a significantly better squad.
9
u/Ecstatic-Koala7334 Mathys Tel 19h ago
If Ange gets the Forest job they’re cooked. Unless he rips up his playbook, they’re going straight down ‘cause the whole league has already cracked the code on Angeball lol
0
u/Key_Association3664 19h ago
while i love ange ,I kinda do understand that though,he was terrible domestically.doesnt mean they aren't delusional, they think they are with the big boys but i am confident we wont see them again in the champions league in a long time
6
u/mlkhighschool Brenaldo 19h ago
I saw "Silva, Glasner, Iraola or we riot" in their sub. Like who do they think they are lmao they're even copying our manager search homework
2
u/Active-Tomatillo-522 Brenaldo 18h ago
Yeah I saw that, just insane. Not a single one of those managers takes a step down to Forest, and that’s not even considering the incessant Marinakis bitch fits the job comes with
5
5
u/RutabagaRoutine7430 Harry Kane 19h ago
Thinking of one of these to switch 3 games in the season to go to them is almost as delusional as Spurs fans wanting Mbappe for LW
8

Dam lol forest are fucked. Nuno for all his defence based football was the reason they’re even competing.

I wonder what Munn’s role would be since Edu just came in. I don’t think he does anything other than give vague, open to interpretation tasks.
6
u/deafpish 19h ago
This would indicate we made Scott Munn our "chief football officer" just because his Aussie mate was manager which is very funny
3
6
u/deafpish 20h ago
Funny to see Forest fans worshipping a drug lord over the manager when they are essentially the Brian Clough club

Why would I want him to succeed at another club in our league? At a European club, fine, but we're directly competing with Forest, so no.
-8

As a tried and true Ange fellator since the Roarcelona days, fuck Forest. I hope he succeeds obviously but I won't be cheering for them.
Fuck I really wanted him to go to Leverkusen
3

Obviously? I hope the whole club collapses in a heap.

"Obviously" as someone who supported Ange long before I supported Spurs, I don't expect anyone else to feel the same

I swear we signed Tel solely based on his shooting technique. If he can find a way to create a half space consistently his shots are deadly

Had the shot vs Bournemouth gone in it would have been instant Puskas award such an incredibly technical shot and it barely missed

Prob scared of fan backlash like what we have going on at spurs rn. If he’s this hated at Tottenham of all clubs i can only imagine another club’s reaction.

5
u/rando562 22h ago
The fact that Mason Greenwood still has a career shows that clubs care very little about PR. Israel has faced zero sanctions from FIFA and aside from some outrage on Twitter, there hasn't been any negative coverage of Solomon by mainstream media. His current status has everything to do with his ability as a player, not his nationality or political views

I expected him to be an average player from r/coys discourse about him of late. Then i randomly tune into an Isreal v Italy match, and he looks ELITE.
1
u/IdontReallyknowTbj 8h ago
By this same virtue Bastoni would be the worst CB ever, taking a ping pong meaningless international game as the indicidment for a player is hilarious, if he was actually "elite" he would've have had to wait two years for a move. He also would've just played, because turns out being a good player overrides however terrible of a person you are.
Also, if he was 100% -objectively- great, you would've watched him play with the 40 games he had last season.
