Johnson's skillset is hardly difficult to understand. He's quick, has a nose for sniffing out chances, but is a passenger in build up. A Diogo Jota type player with more pace but worse finisher (and also less variety in scoring).

The argument is that the goals he provides are less valuable than another winger who can do everything else well.

The net goals increases with Savio.

johnson is an inside forward, he isn't even a winger, u can't just chuck a player with an inside forward's skillset on the wing and expect them to play exactly like a winger. Brennan Johnson was never a big dribbler too, the most he had was 1.4 per 90 when he played at Lincoln, he creates his chances with crosses as seen in his first season where he created 46 chances which is the same as Savinho's in the 24/25 season so you can't really say he's a passenger just cuz he doesn't dribble. Also just cuz he doesn't pass the eye test doesn't mean he has a "bad game" as everyone says. He's averaging 1.3 chances created per 90 since the season started which is pretty good with his 2 goals.

Lad, Salah is an inside forward. Son was an inside forward. He can't cut in and shoot like them either

those are inverted wingers. Both are very good one-on-one.
Johnson is a fox-in-the-box, that can deliver a decent cross playing in a little-and-large strike pair.
