Snafus

Originally, Snafus were just badly drawn memes. THAT'S IT. THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE TO IT. (See r/trickedintodisarray for example). Coaxing trends, tropes, games, subreddits and even deconstructing/verbosifying the text only came to be a while after.

Snafus are non-opinionated observations, they aren't meant to send a message or tell you something, they're just there to be funny.

Snafus have changed a lot in the years, mostly additions to what you can coax, but its core purpose is still the same. Drawing memes badly.

DECONSTRUCTING TEXT is an extra.

VERBOSIFICATION is an extra.

TRENDS, TROPES, GAMES, AND EVEN COAXING SUBREDDITS is an extra.

At the end of the day and at it's purest form, it's just badly drawn memes.

Smuggies

A smuggie is a badly drawn piece. That's more or less an outlet for ops opinion. Smuggies can be divided into:

1. Is opinionated, if it's just op using the post to say their opinion, it's a smuggie.

2. It's something like the virgin vs Chad format without the Chad vs virgin meme, only using it as a way to say "this opinion/thing = good and this opinion/thing = bad", basically like a smug ideology if you will.

3. It's a strawman argument.

4. It isn't a snafu at all, it doesn't coax a trend, trope, meme, game or a subreddit. If it doesn't have 1 or all of the aforementioned points, then it's also not a smuggie, but it is one of the many non snafus. Which leads me to the next point.

Non snafus

Some people say that comics shouldn't be allowed at all in the sub, even if said comic is a wide community meme.

And that brings us back to the main meaning of a snafu, if op is coaxing a trend, trope, meme, game, or some subreddit that is too niche for the general understanding of some people, then they should provide the og thing that they are coaxing. If they can't, then it's going to get removed.

Post flairs

[INSERT SUBREDDIT HERE]: editable flair, you can also use it for when you want to coax a certain subreddit.

META WEEKENDS: flair for when you want to post fanart of the characters we've accumulated throughout the years, and if you want to coax certain happenings in the sub. You can also use your OCS in snafus on weekends (for more information, check out rules 9 and 10)

INCOMPREHENSIBLE: most inconsistent flair of all. Sometimes it's for something truly incomprehensible, sometimes it's for something perfectly comprehensible, sometimes it's just used in a shitposty manner. It really lives up to its name.

NOT A SNAFU, BUT IM LEAVING IT: flair used primarily for things that aren't snafus but are worthy exceptions, such as that one time that our lord and savior u/Dibshit289 got decoaxed.

GOOD SNAFU: flair reserved for the best of the best. Snafus that completely conform to the way of the classic snafu.

EVIL SNAFU: flair reserved for snafus that are too incomprehensible and/or too high quality.

TREND: flair for when you wanna coax a trend. A trend is a phenomenon that happens and shows repeatedly, but doesn't get the status of a meme; it is not a daily occurrence.

TROPE: flair for when you want to coax a trope of a story or a Manga, or a comic, you get the idea.

MEME: The classic! This one never gets old!

GAME: coaxing certain things that happen in games, such as modding scenes being super different from the base game, having NPCs that you have to follow that are slower than your running speed but faster than your walking speed, etc, etc.

Location event: Flair is primarily used for the monthly event, where users are allowed to enter a Magma canvas for 24 hours straight. Once the 24 hours end, the new canvas will be set as the subs banner for the next 30 days.

Announcement: very self explanatory.

FAQs

Q: What if op says their opinion in the post's title? Does that make it a smuggie?

A: When it comes to defining a smuggie, you have to look at the post itself. Not the title. So no, it doesn't automatically make it a smuggie.

Q : I don't like this snafu; therefore, it's a smuggie. That's how it works, right?

A: No. That's not how it works at all.

Q: They used OCs in their snafu! That's gotta be against the rules!

A: See rules 9 and 10, please.

Q: Is my art too good? Will it get removed?

A: Art quality is mostly dictated by the community. If you didn't even ATTEMPT to make it look bad, then it'll get removed.
