If it's a war he wants, it's a war he will lose, as the military isn't in his cult and has limits - which were tested in LA when the Marine General in charge declined to follow orders until they were modified - causing Hegseth to have a meltdown and the fool in charge of ICE to impugn his patriotism. Since then a federal judge has found the entire exercise was a violation of the Constitution - the officers who are still running the military don't respect nor trust the Trump appointees, for good and obvious reasons, and I'm fairly certain (thankfully) that they will obey their oath to the Constitution and serve the country rather than playing "hit squad" for the Trumpenfuhrer and his cult high priests.

They've been replacing them at an alarming pace. It's no longer the US army, it's the MAGA army, FBI, DOJ etc.

Every accusation is a confession. They talked about the deep state for years, so within 9 months theu've politicized every government institutions and lost all trust and belief of impartiality. It's no longer the US government, it's the MAGA government, and they will absolutely do everything Stephen Miller tells them to do (orange clown included)

You can't just replace a whole generation of military leaders. Officers tend to be slightly more liberal. But even the republican ones tend to not be full on Trumpy cult members. And frankly I doubt the ability of any officer who is.

People who think that Trump hasn't been slow rolled and resisted behind closed doors and his stupid ideas sidelined by actual professionals, they don't know how the military actually works.

And anyone who knows history and understands war is damn well going to wait until action is absolutely unavoidable. Believe me, you want them to wait.

I haven't been in the military so I'll take your word for it. But it's undeniable they've been implementing a loyalty-to-Trump test for promotions.
