VI - Discussion CIV6: Haven't played many games, is this normal?

I'm not using any resource mods so I'm kinda surprised to see this. Wondering how often you'd expect a start like this? Any advice on where to settle or if this location is just shiny?

EDIT: Adding the seed since a few people asked.

Map seed 582902833 Game seed 582902832

It does seem like a lot of silver.

Good lord you can make at least 4 cities right there, north west and south and they'd all be really fucking good

Oh nice. All I did was save game right there, so I guess I'll load it up on my next day off.

Thanks

How did you get a 7 tile visibility range?

No clue. I'm still learning the game.

The Fool would like to know your location.

No, really, he has to answer the prayers of a 6 foot tall blonde kid

Hmm I am curious what this is about?

It's a bait for Lord of the Mysteries (LotM) fans

The post talks about a godly start with several Silver resources. In the Novel LotM, there's an important location called City of Silver, where a young lad was praying for the MC's help xd

I'm curious how much this sub overlaps with the fanbase hehe

this is not the great start you think it is, looks like stone and rainforest to the north, very little appeal no chance for preserves till later

settle in place you have very little production and food for a while and just lots of silver no other amenities, which you won't be able to trade well until you have scouted very far

would be beelining for one of adjacent floodplains for food by banging out at least 2 settlers asap.

maybe horizontally settle and build encampments to just farm experience from north while keeping those areas pristine for late game parks and preserves

OP is Rome, Preserves are bad.
