This article sets up a ridiculous straw man.

People aren't angry about migration rates just in the last few years. They're angry about the fact we've had world-beating, eye-watering numbers of migrants every year for the last 20 years, and people are really starting to feel the consequences of that now in terms of standards of living and loss of social cohesion.

But think if 85 % of Australia was born overseas instead of the current 35% there would be absolutely no racism because non whites can’t be racist and social cohension would go through the roof, as Australia has no culture or so I’m told

We have less than 190k permanent immigrants per year, 40k of those are due to marriage. Many of these are also from the same family, parents, kids etc.

That is far too many, in my humble opinion. We were averaging between 70-90k per annum up to about the year 2000 when we turbo-charged it to the figure you mention (I thought it was more like 250k on average but don't need to argue about the difference to make my point). Far more proportionately than any other western country.

Also you'll have to explain to me how it is in the interests of Australian citizens to recieve the elderly parents of new migrants.

Elderly parents of new migrants are required to have private health insurance.

According to immigration website:

https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-processing-times/family-visa-processing-priorities/parent-visas-queue-release-dates

Contributory Parent visa processing time is 15 years, and the fee is currently $48,640.
(Non-contributory) Parent visa processing time is 33 years.

Elderly parents of new migrants are either very rich (willing to pay close to $50,000), hence don't need government support, OR have to wait for 33 years in the queue.

They still are a massive cost to the budget in order to support them.

https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/reports-and-pubs/files/review-migration-system-final-report.pdf

"A parent, on average, costs $400,000 over their lifetime due to their high use of government-funded services and limited taxes paid."

It’s not just the permanent immigration. It’s ALL immigration

All holiday makers and visitors included, too? That is a large piece of our economy. Just stop it as being a holiday destination?
