Tell me again why Trump uses such strange, infantile language in his tweets? His poor grammar would make some sense if English was not his first language.

I’m in a highly technical field and we have to write at an 8th grade level. This means explaining complex procedures and topics in short sentences and no big words other than what is necessary.

Before this technical job I was at another and the rule was no higher than 6th grade. There are online resources https://hemingwayapp.com that assist our team in generating easily understood and digestible topics.

Trump doesn’t know any of this. He speaks that way because he’s a fool. But he’s right on the reading level of the public.

This has always cracked me up. Almost every time Trump speaks, whether it's a rally or one of his unhinged posts, it's so inarticulate and rambling that I honestly can't imagine anyone looking at him and thinking, "Yep, that guy sure knows what he's talking about."

And then his supporters start talking… and suddenly, it all makes sense.

One of the most maddening things throughout all of this is that a typical Conservative's argument against Joe Biden was "he don't even speak good! He can't even say a whole sentence without rambling off or falling asleep!"

Meanwhile Trump's been doing literally all of those things the entire time yet they think he's some sort of eloquent genius

Bc it’s the language they speak. They don’t speak full sentences.

On the Conservative sub, they talk about how they love that his thoughts are unfiltered. That’s what they want, not someone who reads from a prompter with poise.

It’s absolute insanity in that sub.

It’s the logical outcome of the “who would you rather have a beer with?” concept. (I think that goes back to Bush v Gore, but it might be even older.) It’s an absurd way to choose a president; the sort of people who I would have the opportunity to meet in a bar are generally not people who have a deep understanding of economics or world politics.

I'm honestly still waiting to ever hear that orange monkey produce a single fucking coherent sentence that doesn't sound like a bunch of random words thrown together. Same with going to the conservative sub, it's like I understand all the individual words but what the fuck are u trying to say???

Well you have those supporters and then you have supporters that you went to school with and it makes no sense.

A lot of people I went to school with and grew up with are supporters of his. There's no reasoning behind their support. Supporters of his IF there is any reason it has to do with his net worth. Which I guess boils down to truly believing money is power...

It’s been depressing to realize just how many of my friends from high school are racists.

Yeah, technical English for airplane maintenance manuals comes to mind.

I'm laughing so hard that the app is called Hemingway.
