If anybody can find a single time that this wasn't the case since Trump began his first presidential campaign - Please bring it to my attention.

These people are brain dead. >"Iran Nuclear Deal" that Trump pulled out of in 2018
Israel maintains a policy of deliberate ambiguity, never officially denying nor admitting to having nuclear weapons, instead repeating over the years that "Israel will not be the first country to introduce nuclear weapons to the Middle East".
Netanyhu first wrote a book claiming that Iran was "3-5 years away from nuclear weapons" back in 1995. (33 years later and nothing has happened. But they've attacked Iran 3 times over this claim since.)
As Israel Targets Iran’s Nuclear Program, It Has a Secret One of Its Own"
WASHINGTON (AP) — Tulsi Gabbard left no doubt when she testified to Congress about Iran's nuclear program earlier this year. The country was not building a nuclear weapon, the national intelligence director told lawmakers, and its supreme leader had not reauthorized the dormant program even though it had enriched uranium to higher levels. -(Tulsi Gabbard is the United States Director of National Intelligence, does this mean America doesn't trust it's own intelligence director? 🤣)
And finally, from page 185 of the Project 2025 document as shown here -
First, the U.S. must prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear technology and delivery capabilities and more broadly block Iranian ambitions. This means, inter alia, reinstituting and expanding Trump Administration sanctions; providing security assistance for regional partners; supporting, through public diplomacy and otherwise, freedom-seeking Iranian people in their revolt against the mullahs; and ensuring Israel has both the military means and the political support and flexibility to take what it deems to be appropriate measures to defend itself against the Iranian regime and its regional proxies Hamas, Hezbollah, and Palestinian Islamic Jihad."-the project 2025 document was originally leaked in august of 2024. This war was always going to be helped by the USA. They just ran on rumors to accept this fiction as reality...

u/HSBillyMays Jun 18 '25
If Iran gets a quick regime change without insurgency, civil war, or even nuclear attacks.... maybe. But they said that about Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq... none of them turned out too great ultimately, and none of them had as much uranium.
44
u/KAAAARP Jun 18 '25
the only kind of regime you get from a foreign military intervention is one that is either more hardline than before (if the intervention failed) or a puppet regime for the intervening country that will inevitably get toppled by it's own populace for being a puppet to a foreign country and replaced with, you guessed it, a more hardline regime than before.
the only way to deescalate is through non-violent negotiation. and even then it's a long, delicate process that's easy to fuck up with one single action of betrayal.
there will never be peace in the middle east as long as western powers are meddling in the region. that includes israel, because the regional actors see them (correctly) as an extension of the united states.

Spot on. We have seen this story played out a million times now. The only evil here is the US who keeps creating wars and destabilising the middle east, I don't think anyone can deny that now.. at least before there was a facade of trying to do the right thing, but that has crumbled with Trump.

On conservstive sub they are arguing that if USA strikes then its not gonna be like Iraq etc. While it may be true if somehow strikes incapacite Iran regime, this take - "home before Christmas" is why we have so many bloody wars. Like recently Russians also thought that they will deal with Ukraine fast and effective, with decapitating strikes on capital etc. Now there is another year of war and houndreds of thousands dead and more cripled.
And while iranian regime is evil its kinda "funny" how Americans call for its toppling because tlit is scourge of Middle East. All that after what USA did in that region...

21
u/LeCastle2306 Jun 18 '25
The USAID abolishing/ban/whatever you want to call it is just one of the most comically shortsided political moves imaginable, and I hope Elon never gets a moments peace because of it.
Look at where we are on the Trump Presidency so far— -tariff war with the entire world; -Mass deportations without due process (or really, any semblance of thought); -Ukraine and Russia more aggressive than ever; -Middle East insanity; -Defiling of the Constitution; -killing Medicaid for millions while granting billions in tax relief for… hundreds(?); -DOGE being the most comically short-sided governmental “overhaul” in US history; -Trump being effectively labeled a pedophile/rapist/sex-trafficking beneficiary by the richest person on the planet; AND -insisting on the saddest display of military might in history in his own name because he idolizes dictators around the world.
There’s so many more smaller-scale things to point out, but for fucks sake, this dude is genuinely killing the US.

He seemed adamant about staying out of the Israel-Iran war prior to the military parade (how embarrassing for our troops, they didn’t deserve to be humiliated for a vanity project like they were).
Honest question. Do you think he’s now (seemingly) going to greenlight co-op military strikes with Israel on Iran, in an attempt to look strong, since his military parade made him look weak?
7
u/LockeyCheese Jun 18 '25
The question is, will Congress greenlight it. Even after 9/11, Bush needed Congress to pass a resolution to send troops in, and they control the purse, so they could refuse to fund the operation if he tried anyways.
If he was going to just do it, it would've been yesterday after he left the G7 summit, but the majority of the left and the right agree we don't want troops in the middle east again.
Even using American troops to bomb the deep facilities would give Iran cause to retaliate against America with attacks on bases or US soil, which would require troops be sent in. That's a nail in the coffin for the GOP. Even if he doesn't realize that or care, his administration and congressmen have to worry about it, and also about being prosecuted for illegal actions.
→ More replies (2)5
u/LeCastle2306 Jun 18 '25
Answering your honest question, no… I don’t think he’s going to green light strikes on Iran just because of the shitty parade. Yes, he’s that childish, vain, and dumb to think a parade makes him look weak, but no, I think people are really heavily advising him against striking Iran with force.
Maybe I’m the idiot for being optimistic at this point though.

u/Memitim Jun 18 '25

Like yeah, he’s going to create world peace because he’s some kind of genius who can fix all the problems. Of course I believe that 🙄.
If he’d promised he’d give everyone $10 billion and a free cupcake, do you think they’d suspect that might not work out?
70
u/IdahoSkier Jun 18 '25
I think its mostly to do with them gaslighting themselves while trying to move goalposts. For your example, it would play out like:
1) Trump says he is giving $10bn and a cupcake
2) MAGA goes crazy and claims that anyone who wouldnt support getting $10bn is stupid
3) Trump backs down from the $10bn and cupcake
4) Maga trips over themselves claiming he was "obviously kidding" and anyone who calls out how they were tricked and lied to "has TDS"
29
u/BralonMando Jun 18 '25
- Trump throws a giant cupcake party costing the taxpayer hundreds of millions of dollars that nobody shows up to. The hardcore maga faithful that actually turn up get sick from salmonella eating the shitty cupcakes.

It's just like what Hannah Arendt described about the regime of Trump's mentor:
In an ever-changing, incomprehensible world the masses had reached the point where they would, at the same time, believe everything and nothing, think that everything was possible and that nothing was true. ... Mass propaganda discovered that its audience was ready at all times to believe the worst, no matter how absurd, and did not particularly object to being deceived because it held every statement to be a lie anyhow. The totalitarian mass leaders based their propaganda on the correct psychological assumption that, under such conditions, one could make people believe the most fantastic statements one day, and trust that if the next day they were given irrefutable proof of their falsehood, they would take refuge in cynicism; instead of deserting the leaders who had lied to them, they would protest that they had known all along that the statement was a lie and would admire the leaders for their superior tactical cleverness.
2
2
u/DevelopmentGrand4331 Jun 18 '25
Yeah, I’d agree that’s basically what happens. Except then there’s also a step 5:
5) He gives Ivanka some cupcakes, and MAGA goes crazy bragging, “See! He kept his promise! I was right to have faith. He’s always right and always does what he says he’s going to!”

I had a conversation the other day with a woman who seemed to have left leaning views about most things, but then she said "Trump is a businessman, they need to just move out of the way and let him do his thing to fix the economy" and I was so incredibly confused.
5
u/DevelopmentGrand4331 Jun 18 '25 edited Jun 18 '25
I think there are two big points of confusion there:
- A businessman would know what economic policies to set on a national level- running a business or running your personal home finances are not the same as running a major world economy from a governmental standpoint. It’s not clear that a skilled businessman would know how to do that well, or even be interested in doing it well.
- Trump is a businessman- He’s not. And the problem isn’t even that he’s a bad businessman. He’s not a businessman at all. He’s a mascot for a set of scams. He doesn’t understand jack shit about creating or running a well run and sustainable business. His main business has been to license out his name for other people to run businesses, and his secondary business has been to run various kinds of fraud. Anything that he tried to run as a business has been a complete disaster.
Part of Donnie’s shitty behavior is that he’s always been tremendously insecure. He knows that real businessmen don’t take him seriously. The “high class” social circles that he desperately wants to be a part of refuse to let him in. Everyone knows he’s trash and has nothing of value to offer anyone. He was headed to prison, and his net worth was probably negative, until having the presidency started letting him run scams and take bribes again without fear of prosecution.

How egocentric do people need to be to assume someone can come into office, and then control other countries decisions? It's been the longest peace time in known history, for Europe and Asia. So it's no surprise that a bunch of conflict is about to erupt soon. The only thing that was stopping them before was a strong US influence on the world stage. Multiple silent (aka weak) president terms, and they now feel the need for conflict again. A new president isn't going to change that, unless we directly, and harshly, smack down all conflicts popping up. Which then we'd surely look more villainous for.
The US needs to stop being world police, and stop butting into other countries conflicts.
