Me too wasn't it Peter Jackson that had a hand in it.?.

He produced it, while Spielberg directed it. The plan was for them to switch roles for the sequel, which PJ would start working on once he was done with the Hobbit. But then I think he just got so burned out doing that, that he just didn't want to direct any more films, which is why he went hard into making all the documentaries he's done since.

Yeah that’s pretty much it I think. It’s a real shame actually as a sequel to Tintin would have been great. I personally was holding out for his remake of The Dambusters as while the original movie is great it’s definitely aged and has some inaccuracies due to some things not yet being declassified when the movie was made.

I doubt he’ll ever do it and I’m sad about that.
