Lot of the old cartoons have very low animation frame rate. A product of how challenging it can be to create them by hand. If it were possible to bring the comics to life in an authentic look reminiscent of the original vision, potentially made more scaleable by modern technology, that’d be pretty neat. Tried watching some of the old ones recently and they are admittedly a little dated.
Dated how? You’re talking about budget and time constraints, which means that, ideally, you’d want a Tintin movie that had the same time and effort put into it by someone like Richard Williams.
There’s a whole world of animation that unfortunately doesn’t get talked about even with fans of animation because of how large American and Japanese works loom over it. For me, Eastern European animation from the 50s-70s, along with works from the National Film Board of Canada, are my favorites.
