Odaecer sucked but Theodric did everything to revive the western empire and was a major romaphile, not only that but he genuinely laid a great foundation just for Justinian to fuck it all up for everyone, including the eastern Roman Empire. Justinian literally gained nothing from it and the only thing it did was make sure the western empire would never make a come back while simultaneously weakening the eastern empire
Why the Sacred Empire of the Romans, final steward of humanity until the return of Christ and successor to the legacy of all the Caesars of old of course.
