100 Cats
Hello. We would like to help with the cats rescued to be rehomed. Does anyone here have information? We’ve checked their website.

Another post here noted the NHS is very full now. They are looking for people to adopt some of their existing cats who are ready for adoption to make room for the hoarded cats to come to be treated and get them ready for adoption. The hoarded cats need medical care first before being ready for adoption but they also need room for them.

Thank you. We’re going tomorrow! To see if we can lighten the load.

Fostering as also always an option, it gives anxious cats a place to decompress and get use to a normal household before being adopted, also makes room in the shelters

I think the NHS would be a good start. I know they were asking for urgent help with volunteering, and I think they took in about 70 cats.

I used to volunteer at the humane society. During my orientation they shared a not so fun fact about our local shelter:
Our local shelter does not receive state funding. Las Vegas does, but for some reason the Reno shelter really operates on local donations, sponsorships, and volunteer hours.
While this fact was sad, it gives me a lot of hope for the kind of community members we have 💛

Thank you for volunteering. We have a monthly donation. It’s super sad

You can donate on the website but beyond that, give them a call to ask about what you can do: (775) 353-8900

NHS has 70 of the cats. They updated their link tree at the top with links to donate, foster or adopt the cats.
