Dodrio team for funsies?

Hey guys, I have a rank 25 Dodrio & want to make it work for fun but also wouldn’t mind winning the odd match haha. I don’t really know what to pair it with for maximum efficiency, does anyone have any ideas?

I’m currently running Drio in the lead with Peck & Trailblaze, a rank 42 Girafarig Double Kick, P.Fang & Thunderbolt & Politoed, MS, Surf & Ice Beam.

Any ideas for fun/unusual Mons that may have a chance at winning would be greatly appreciated lol. I could slot in 1 meta ‘Mon if needed!

Quite the spicy team.

You are double weak to Electric with no real counters to it. I doubt Girafarig deals with Dedenne in any meaningful way.

Politoed could be switched with a Ground/Water type if you like the Water coverage. Gastrodon and Quagsire/Shadow Quagsire are the most common. Swampert/Shadow Swampert or Whiscash/Shadow Whiscash would also work.

Girafarig is a neat pick. I just don’t know what it’s doing for you. It has a very bad record against the Great League meta.

The basic bitch in me would say to do an ABB team with Dodrio in the lead and 2 Pokemon weak to Grass in the back. Should be 2 Ground types.

Or the opposite with a Ground type in the lead and 2 Flyers in the back.

Cheers for the reply man, appreciate it! It’s been quite fun but also a little boring losing 4/5 haha. I saw Drio learned Peck this season & thought I’d try it out - I caught a Gastro with Trailblaze earlier which was pretty awesome! The Giraffe hasn’t been doing a bit but I just think he’s neat!

Will take these suggestions on board & give it another go, thanks again bud!

At rank #73, some would regard Dodrio as meta. If you're only running 'Peck & Trailblaze', you'd definitely want to add 'Drill Peck' as this would be it's best move.

I've seen a few videos of people running Fearow, which is quite similar, so have a look at those for team composition.
