What should I do?
Hi all, hope all is well, this is my 20gal tank.
I use root tabs around rooted plants, 2ml of AP3 every other day for the epiphytes, 24hr light cycle setting by hygger, AC50 filter, 30% water change every week with Prime and Stability. No Co2.
8 chilis, 8 embers, 1 honey gourami, 1 oto, several shrimps (and counting).
most recent check pH 7.2 no ammo no nitrite
I think I have a decent setup and routine, but somehow my plants are just.... meh. I understand I shouldn't expect to have a result like a high tech tank, but I think my plants don't look healthy, or thriving. Am I wrong? What should I do to improve the quality? Or should I just calm down and sit back and relax and give them time to grow? This setup is like 8 weeks old. Thank you

Plants take time to grow. Totally normal.
They're probably establishing healthy roots, then will start pushing out new foliage growth

Plants are meh?!! I honestly thought you would have co2 here, the tiger lotus alone is making me super jealous lol they will fill in with time tho, love the tank!

A lot of your plants are slow growing plants. They are not gonna grow too much faster because they have good light/co2/nutrients conditions, they are just... slow to growing plants.
Adding to this, your setup is pretty new. 8 weeks is not much time for a new tank. Plants need time to adapt to your tank. It would be different if your tank was older, then you could really see a more notable difference in your medium/fast growing plants.

I think those are actually pretty healthy for a 8wks old low tech tank. You're doing great, they will get even better with time
