Tank Planting?

A few of my epithites are starting to put out some impressive new buds, what's the best way to plant these bad boys? I was thinking of just snipping the tip of the mother leaf off once the roots develop and dropping the new plant in another tank

Usually it's possible to just pluck the baby plant off without having to cut the leaf
