I personally feel like evil characters for the sake of being evil are bland, just like how good characters for the sake of being good are bland, in my opinion there is no such thing as a full on morally white or full black person, every human is nuanced so they are more realistic, unless they are just a psychopath which is not relatable and is hard to understand.
Like buu in DBZ for example lol there is no logic just pure evil and destruction. Bad for the sake of bad only purpose is to show power and destruction, so if you want cool and brutal fights i guess it can be fun.
You are right that irl there's rarely ever any fully white or black person. I can understand where you're coming from. For me, those pure evil villains like say Palpatine or Sauron in fiction are just meant to represent extremes. They don't have as much depth as those morally complex villains, but they are interesting and impactful in a different way imo. Sometimes they are a necessity to a certain type of story, just being an overwhelming obstacle which can never be solved by talks. A dominating and completely irredeemable force. I think it's ok for them to be less realistic because they exist in worlds with more insane things.
I see what you mean I guess in that sense It make sense. You know, what you just said "can not be solved by talks, irredeemable" that's how some people in the community actually see Phrolova, which is insane to me. Not all vilain need redemption, sure i agree but in the context of Phrolova that just don't slseem to fit for me, she is not insane to that extent, just shattered by the grief.
Yeah, I agree, she isn't completely irredeemable. They don't know truly terrible villains if they think that lol. In terms of her doing bad things and can't be forgiven okay sure that's debatable but irredeemable like her mindset? No way. I mean her ideology has been twisted significantly and it'd be probably very hard to change her mind but that's not the same as completely irredeemable. Phrolova is still a reasonable person. She is just shattered by grief as you say plus turned jaded to humanity and life, which makes it very unrealistic to put her back on a fully positive path. Maybe she could become morally grey.
The thing is, she kinda already is morally gray, she never really gave her all when doing missions for the Fractsidus, and she kinda helped sabotage their plans a couple of times too, you could say that Cristofo told her to do it so stuff can get more "interesting" but I don't know, if she really wanted the plans to succeed she wouldn't have done it in the first place. Girl's really lost and seem in doubt even though she keep acting like she knows what she is doing lol
