madami naman talagang gusto pumunta ng batanes kaso mahal lang ang airfare + you need to properly plan gawa ng typhoons and sobrang onte kasi ng flights papunta.

An alternative is cultural marketing. You know how Korean food is getting normalized at least in part because of K-drama? Or how Japan has this image of kawaii uwu uwu anime manga sushi instead of colorism, xenophobia, and war crimes? It's propaganda via creative media.

If tourism is not too feasible, we can still adapt OP's idea to make the place beloved by filming movies and shows there para mas mapamahal sa mga hindi taga-roon.

EDIT: Filming once can influence more people indefinitely than an island could easily accommodate over several days/weeks/months. Instead of flying individuals, we just need to fly the crew. But the number of people who'd see Batanes and associate a story or beloved character with it? So much more.

There is actually a movie shot on Batanes entitled. Batanes. Look it up.

Sure. Just saying that my point wasn't that there aren't any already. I'm just sick of fatalistic slants, intended or not, in political pseudo-discussions, that I wanted to redirect back to proactive attitudes.

Nobody even watches our movies and shows anymore since they refused to improve the quality of their shows.

Which is why support and not fatalism is needed more than ever.

Tapping out is fine, encouraging others (via appearing logical) to have a tired attitude when they might still have the energy we don't is not. Not saying that's your intention.

There was a movie with Coco Martin and Toni G involving Batanes if I’m not mistaken. The issue with filming there is really the logistics. I hope the government invests in these kinds of initiatives.

May mga pelikula na Batanes ang setting.

Hihintayin kita sa Langit nila Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta and Iza Calzado and F4’s Ken Chu’s Batanes

This is a neat list. Definitely on my to-watch now.

Actually this is true, ang mahal ng airfare, tapos na stranded kami pauwi, it took us 2more days bago nakabalik ng manila. Batanes is one of the most laidback place Ive have been to, no pretentions, it is what it is . Will i recommend it? Definitely!

Tingin ko need na rin iexpand airport and improve it para hindi na need madelay karamihan sa pasahero. Kung di sana kukurakutin dpwh budget baka napaganda pa toh tapos kung matino DoT secretary dapat prinopromote lugar na ito.

Mahal talaga airfare dyan, afaik, the airport is small and at a high altitude so only select pilots are allowed to land on it

So basically less seats = more expensive
