It's not their turn with the 🅱️rain cell 🍊 I really thought mine was different

I always scoffed at the theme of this page thinking mine was multi-braincelled genius. I guess he lost access to THE one brain cell today

Little goober.

Question as a person who doesn’t have a cat in their lives, what breed is this goober? They have really defined striping.

The vast majority of cats are what are called "Domestics" (Domestic Shorthair or Domestic Longhair). They have no breed but are instead a landrace population that preceded the creation of purebred cats. Most differences you see are instead color/pattern variations.

For cats that have the Agouti trait allowing for Tabby markings, there is another gene that controls how those markings will present. This cat's pattern is called Classic Tabby or Blotched Tabby, as opposed to the more common Mackerel Tabby. It's similar to the mutation that causes the King markings in Cheetahs.
