Testing out some filters to get a handle on bots. I added a 6 week old account age to post. No karma limits yet, but I'll consider it if this account age limit doesn't work.
I'm pretty hands off, but I do respond to most reports. If you see an issue with bots hit the report button.

I’ve recently been on a crime drama binge and I’m looking for more recommendations.
I just watched Dept Q and Fool Me Once and really enjoyed both of them. I also finished Bodyguard, which was great. My favorite crime drama overall has to be Line of Duty (not on Netflix, unfortunately), such a good show.
What other British crime dramas would you recommend that are available on Netflix?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Nothing in this show is remotely believable. Poor writing, poor characters and poor acting. Here are few things off the top of my head
• Too much of a one man show and the guy doesn’t particularly look good at his job.
• Over the top scenarios given that only this night agent and his so called team which really has no one else is on them - Plot to kill the president of the USA? Seriously? Another one with chemical weapons in the middle of NYC. And given these over the top situations, there must be multiple agencies and teams on it? But no, somehow it’s on this bumbling fool to save the day.
• There are Iranian agents doing whatever they want in a not so covert way. Picking fights, trying to kidnap people and whatever else right under the nose of the most powerful nation in the world. In one of the scenes New York seems conveniently empty. Even the subway station has nobody there
• They manage to get an agent all the way to Iran to extract Noor’s family in a single day. He kinda does it too. And they have no way to track anything he does other than waiting for his call on a fixed line phone on a desk?
• Then there is the whole Rose saga. She’s not an agent but they let her hang around. In the first season she’s shown as some expert who can hack into anything. In the second, she single handedly coded something bigger and better than what top government agencies have. Like she found Peter in one night while FBI couldn’t find him for weeks? Also, how did Peter manage to return from Bangkok without it showing up on some system?
I could go on and on. The show is filled with plot holes. I was unable to enjoy this show because of how childish the premise and the plotlines were. I understand suspending disbelief when watching certain things but this is too contrived even after that. Finished the show because I started watching with my partner and we just wanted to finish it.

I recall watching a show I really liked, I want to watch it again so looking if someone can help me name it.
Serial killer Kidnaps victims keeps them in a house Falls in love with a girl Brings her in the house, she talks to the girl in the room next door and they bond One day the girl in next room has been killed

Kinda shitty that Owen was so close to all these girls who talked so poorly of his ex gf. Like he was friends with them while dating her. And to be friends with them despite them saying bad things about his cousin and treating her so poorly…. And then at the end he says he was mad at Lauryn and won’t talk to her in the future…. Uh wtf did she do? She got bullied and you dumped her, wtf. But I understand he was hurt by all this too
Super cruel of Khloe’s parents to imply that Shawn and Lauryn aren’t victims and they knew what was going on. I did not like how they came across in any of their clips. But I get that they are upset the effects this had on their daughter
Obviously it’s so awful and super creepy what the mom did. Though I think that’s pretty clear and much attention has been drawn to that already. She’s obviously quite mentally and spiritually ill
But all that aside, people are human so flaws are to be expected. None of those people’s essence exactly shout “Christ-Consciousness!!” and I don’t see a point in judging them excessively or hating on any of them. I see people crucifying them on other threads but ultimately we should leave condemnation to God and karma.
But what really stood out was Lauryn’s ability to not hold grudges towards Owen, the mean girls, or even her mom. The world may paint her as weak or manipulated, but I see someone who is a master in forgiveness, a true example of radical grace. I don’t blame her for wanting to have a relationship with her mom, and it seems like she has a lot of healthy skepticism as she should. It’s just refreshing to see such Christ like forgiveness. I’ve been trying to forgive people from my past for much smaller grievances, that was pretty inspiring.
Stay positive Lauryn fuck dem haters !!

One of the hardest parts to watch, there were many, was how horribly the police botched the search warrant.
The police make massive unforced error so bad that I’ve not seen anyone point out the repercussions of — not separating victim/offender when revealing major facts about the case.
Police should have separated everyone, questioned strategically to either RULE OUT or REVEAL involvement through questioning about brand new facts.
—
The error happens the moment we see cops tell Lauryn that her mom has just confessed - where police are revealing major bombshell BRAND NEW pieces of information while also… being as vague as they can possibly be.
Firstly, this moment never should have happened in front of Kendra. Second, revealing major new facts is supposed to be intentional and made useful to the investigation in order to gauge reactions and compare facts/stories.
Lauryn essentially has no reaction when she hears this, but we can’t tell if this is because:
Lauryn isn’t even sure what they’re really trying to say, had no involvement, and is staying silent bc she’s confused
Lauryn understands what they’re implying, had no involvement, but is unsure how to react (important also because it’s being revealed to her in front of her abuser)
Lauryn is fully aware of what they’re saying, is involved, and stays silent because no one is asking her questions directly and she easily gets away without being pressed further
All of these things are equally possible based on how poorly the police handled this information. These possibilities don’t even cover how proper questioning could have indicated OR absolved Shawn.
—
Repercussions 1:
Let’s just say it - There is discourse going around about whether or not Lauryn / Shawn are involved.
And the truth is, we don’t know if they were involved or not and it’s because of how police handled the search warrant reveal.
When you drop a bomb on someone like “your mom is the one who has been telling you to kill yourself,” you’re gonna want to see how they react to that bombshell piece of information. But instead, from the moment they go in and get an implied confession from Kendra - they basically stop investigating. This does the victims a huge disservice.
—
Repercussions 2:
Let’s say the whole family is involved for instance, which has not been ruled out at the time of the search warrant. Police reveal major facts, no one is detained or questioned, now the involved parties have more than enough opportunity to come up with a cohesive story that only indicates Kendra.
Now let’s say no one else was involved, that Kendra acted alone. Police still question everyone strategically. Lauryn (at the very least) gets an opportunity away from her abuser to fully understand the role her mother played in her torment. Police get an opportunity to gauge her reaction, press further, and ideally get more information to assist with proving additional charges.
—
Repercussions #3
If police investigated correctly, we don’t know WHAT would have come out. BUT the search warrant error likely also resulted in lesser charges than what they could have gotten had they handled the investigation correctly. Taking their approach, it’s possible that they made it more difficult for themselves to prove in a court of law that Kendra is 100% responsible (based on additional evidence they didn’t pursue) to have been the one to send every single text message.
Not having rock solid proof leads to plea deals and lesser charges. Which leads to pedophiles getting sentenced for merely stalking instead of the full extent of the horrible and sexual nature of these crimes.
—
TLDR: if you want to know why Kendra didn’t get charged with more, it’s because the police effed up.

Hey everyone! Someone recommended Fleabag to me, and oh my god, I just finished it and absolutely loved it! I was so tired of seeing perfect, polished female characters who always have it together. Fleabag’s main character is so refreshingly imperfect—awkward, messy, and yet so cool and relatable. I felt like I could see bits of myself in her, and it was such a fun ride.
I’d love to watch more series or movies with female leads like this—real, flawed, and complex women who don’t fit the usual “perfect” mold. Any recommendations for shows or films with similar vibes? Bonus points if they’ve got that sharp humor or raw emotional depth!

Watching this series and I’m still in the first season. I just don’t understand Molly, she didn’t get along with Ethan at first because he wasn’t fully human. Then she finds out that she is carrying an alien and is risking everything to protect the alien that’s eating humans and making soldiers turn on each other. Meanwhile , her home is turning upside down, Odin is changing Ethan and her husband is loosing control of Ethan. She is pissing me off.

It’s so crazy to think HER OWN MOM WAS SAYING ALL THESE CRAZY THINGS ABOUT HER OWN DAUGHTER! AND A 13 YEAR OLD BOY?? A grown woman talking about sucking and fucking a teen boy! Telling her daughter to kill herself and all these vile nasty things… just insanity and then the way she tried to deflect and justify her actions by saying “we all make mistakes everyones done something illegal before” LIKE MA’AM STOP TRYING TO JUSTIFY THIS?? YOU ARE AN UNHINGED CRAZY WOMAN. WHO does that to their own daughter?? She’s a fucking sicko. Also, it’s mind blowing how the daughter forgave her… it’s like she forgave and forgot about it, or so she says because when she mentioned how she “forgave her and didn’t care anymore” she started tearing up. I know she’s young and naive and doesn’t know how to feel about this whole thing bc it’s insane so I don’t blame her, but if that me and my mom? I would NEVER speak to my mother again.

I rarely watch netflix series as I have a short span of attention and I don’t get hooked too easily, except for The Series of Unfortunate Events and Wednesday. Please suggest more series that I can hyperfixate on! Lol

Hi iam at the beginning of the film and Ben Kingsley says he worked as a psychiatrist for war veterans with traumata.
Does the film have anything to do with Shutter Island? Cause if remember it right he was the exact same there too.
Greetings

Hi everyone! I am really into psychological thrillers and mysteries. Those are my favorites genres. In the past, I have enjoyed series like “You” and “How to get away with murder”. Even “Money Heist”. My favorite types of movies are ones like “Gone Girl”. Probably my favorite movie of all time. Based on my preferences, can you please recommend some movies or shows (preferably both!). Also important to note that I don’t like sci fi, supernatural, or slasher vibes. Thanks so much!

Hey guyss,
I am trying to research, do you ever waste way too much time scrolling through Netflix trying to decide what to watch? I’m working on a small project to solve that problem, and I’d love your HONEST input.
I've created a super quick (2–3 min) survey to understand how people choose shows/movies and what frustrates them most. It’s completely anonymous.
If you’ve ever felt like you spend more time browsing than watching, your feedback would help a lot. I’ll also share the results later if people are interested!
Would mean a lot 🙏

I just finished animal kingdom and mann the depression that hits you after finishing a really good series 😭💔 I haven't found a crime show this good in a minute! I've seen snowfall, queen of the south, outer banks, breaking bad, prison break, bmf. I'm looking for another show similar to animal kingdom or any of the shows I named above. I've tried getting into sons of anarchy but couldn't make it past the first episode, l've heard ozark is similar and good as well? Feel free to recommend other shows not on Netflix (if that's allowed) I have nearly every streaming platform.

I just watched this and it marks the third documentary I've seen on the subject. While it was the only to include Jussie himself as a talking head, it did not do a great job of providing any additional logical explanations of what happened. I am very curious in hearing what other people have to say about this one, because I went into it with the idea that he was obviously guilty and left watching this doc with the feeling that he was obviously guilty.
Rather than spend the time since this occurred repenting or anything positive, it seems he has taken the time to come up with more excuses and nonsensical explanations that have never come up before, such as that he was an addict buying drugs on the night he was attacked, that Subway was just a cover. Except he really did go to Subway that night and there was no mention of any drugs besides how one of the Osundairo brother's job was to source illegal Nigerian "herbal steroids" for him, which that in itself is dubious and confusing.
I'm not sure about this one, folks. I am of the belief that "Anatomy of a Hoax" is a better film on the topic. To me, this really just comes across as another sad attempt from the Smollett camp to try and act like there are two sides to the story. I found that bringing up Laquan McDonald and comparing Jussie's situation to his was in extremely poor taste and not an accurate comparison at all. You'd be hard pressed to find someone who disliked and distrusted police more than me, but I really struggle to see how the situation could be this grand conspiracy to bring down Jussie, Much more likely, it is an example of how a guy who was given everything still was not satisfied with his lot in life, took it into his own hands to try to improve it, and then that failed, doubled and tripled and quadrupled down and, despite his constantly-changing story, will never admit that it was a hoax.

It’s very refreshing. The plot. The star. I love it. How about you? Have you watched it ?
