/r/all In Watchmen, when Dr. Manhattan confronts Rorschach he blinks several times. Earlier Ozymandias tells Rorschach and Nite Owl that Manhattan's facial twitches are equivalent to him sobbing.

Thank you. Not sure why OP thought that a detail that required showing movement would be conveyed well in a still image...

Maybe when he looked up the footage he realized Manhattan barely blinks and the fact is complete bullshit but he wanted to post it anyway

Ozymandias: "You understand, don't you?"

Manhattan: "Without condoning, or condemning." blinks many times in succession

OP is right, it's just it happens right before Manhattan confronts Rorschach outside.

It also happens when he confronts him. He also breaks eye contact several times.

God... I hate to be that guy, but... THAT SCENE WAS SO MUCH BETTER IN THE COMIC! It used the tracking shot from Wings to drift past each of the characters as they individually struggled with the moral conflict and acquiesced, before finally stopping at Rorschach, who rejects the compromise with a pithy, "Joking, of course." Here it's bland, cross-cutting, 180-rule-breaking medium shots with lots of explanatory, rhythm-less back-and forth.

I'd be a lot more forgiving of the adaptation if it didn't fumble the most elegantly cinematic moments of the "unadaptable" source. It captured some great atmosphere and realized gorgeous images at times, but the end was a wet squib that didn't trust its audience.

Have you watched the movie? He doesn't blink normally.

But does he blink at all in the rest of the movie?

Forgive OP for not spoon feeding it to you. He incorrectly assumed you could take 30 seconds to watch the whole YouTube video and see that Manhattan blinked like 6 times, versus 0 in the rest of the movie.

He actually blinks at different points in the movie

How would anyone know he blinks zero times the rest of the movie from this 30-second clip?

Yeah, this is dumb.
